HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-21-1919 70 Office of the Board of Public Works City of Richmond , Indiana, Monday , April 21, 1919. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met - in regular sessionat the officeof the said Board, Monday , April 21, 1919, at 8 :30 AIM. Two members of the said Board being pre- sent Messrs. Taylor, and Peltz. Absent Mr. Johnson, the follow- ing proceedings were had to-wit : - Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. - Mr. Walter Butler, representative of the Starr Piano Company, appeared before the Board asking that two ( 2 ) Fire Hydrants be placed in a suitable location at their plant. The Board inform- ed Mr. Butler that they would take this matter under advisement . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution 563-1919 for the improvement of South 4th Street from Main to South "A" Street by constructing cement curb and gutter one ( 1) ft. wide on west side of said street and paving the roadway the full width thereof, with one of the modern kinds of city pavement to-wit: - Brick; Cement ; Asphalt ; Creosoted Wood-block. Mr. Miller had a letter read to the Board from the Grether Fire Equipment Company of Dayton, Ohio, quoting a price on 400 ft . of 4" Chemical Hose coupled in 50 ft. lengths at 335i per ft. On motion the Board instructed Mr. Miller to pace his order for 400 ft Chemical Hose with said company. Bills to the amount of $11 ,349.94 were allowed and ordered paid.
