The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana,
met in special session in the office of said Board , Saturday
April 12th, _1919, at _10 o' clock A. PM. All the members of
I/ said Board being present , the following proceedings were had ,
To-Wit : -
Pursuant ,to advertisement the Board received bids for the im-
provement of South 9th Street from South "E" Street to the south
corporatioh limits of the City of Richmond , Indiana, by', paving
the roadway of said street in such portions thereof as is not
provided for by the three mile road proceedings for the improve-
ment of such highway now pending before the Board of Wayne County
Commissioners , such street paving to be of like kind as that
adopted by'1said Board of County Commissioners, and also for the
• improvement of said street by building of cement curb & gutter on
either side thereof , said street to be paved with one of the fol-
lowing kinds of payment, to-wit : Brick-Concrete-Creosoted Wooden
Block or Bituminous Macadam on Concrete Base, under Improvement

.The Board now decide that as the County' s portion of said
improvement is to be concrete, the Board designates that said
- South 9th St . be improved by paving. the roadway with concrete
according to the plans & specifications, under Improvement .
Resolution No. 658-1919.
All bids being above the estimate of the City Civil Engineer,
and Mr. Kirkpatrick , being the lowest and best bid, Mr.Jo nson
- moved that the contract be awarded . to Mr. C. M. Kirkpatrick,
at the estimate of the City Civil Engineer, which is $17 ,040 .75
Mr. Kirkpatrick ; having, agreed to construct the inlets at 038 .60
as a part of said contract , .thereby bringing his bid price down
. to $17 ,040 .75 the estimate of City Civil Engineer, the motion
prevailed and the contract was so awarded to the said C. M.
. . Kirkpatrick.

• The Board received bids for the improvement of the north side
of South "B" St. by constructing a cement sidewalk 6' wide, also
cement curb & gutter from the east terminal of the presentement
sidewalk on north side of Tract 511 Official Map , to South 21st
• Street , as per Improvement Resolution No. 561-1919 .
• Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid :
Straight , cement curb & gutter $0.98V per lin-foot
Cement sidewalk 6' wide - 0. 20V per laquaie. foot
The bid o f Daniel G. Burkhardt , being the only one received
and being within the estimate of the City. Civil Engineer, Mr.
Peitz , moved the contract be awarded to said Daniel G. Burkhardt ,
motion prevailed, and contract so awarded. •
The Board then adjourned,
