The Board of Public Itorks of the 6ity of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular sessionat the office of the said Board, Thursday, April 10, ' 1919,' at 8:30 A.M. All membersof the said Board being present, Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceedings were had to-wit:- I/ Minutes of the previous meeting_ road_ and_ were approved. The Board approved and signed the petition of Ebon Louck granting him permission to take up and relay under private contract three (3) blocks of cement block to give water drainag8 infront of Tract 521 Official Map on the east side of South 20th St. , all work to be done at the petitioner' s expense and in accordance with the standard specifications for such work subject to the inspection of and approval of the City Engineer. Mr. Waidele' s complaint of the condition of W. 8th St. between Richmond Avenue and Common' s Road the Board referred to the Eng. and the chairs at _#5 Hose House to the Fire Chief to report back to the Board of Works on. ,, The Clerk presented the petition that was referred to the Board by the Council in regard to the bill board on North 10th St. betw- tween North J St. and the River the Board decided to take this mat- ter up with Mr. Murray and recommend him to have the bill board raised 36 inches above the ground. The Board instructed the Engineer to scarify and roll South B St. from 5th to 6th A. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify C. & 0. R. R. officials to have the cinders removed from the alley between North 2nd and 3rd at the water tank. The Board granted permission to J. W. Dunn to garden the alley be- tween South-west 3rd 8a 4th at E for the season of 1919. The Board instructed the Bldg, Inspector to refloor the kitchen, and dining , and to repair living room floor, also to paper kitchen and dining room, and ceiling in living rooms at the Detention Hospital . The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Dr. Townsend to have the cement block repaired at South 13th and "A" Ste. , and also to no- I/ tify the Seidel Buggy Co. and the Westcott Motor Car Co. to re- pair brick sidewalk on east and west side of North 12th St. be- tween E and the R.R. The Board received bids for the collection removal and disposal of ashes and sweepings in the City of Richmond, Indiana as follows to- wit:- 294 - Thursday, April 10, 1919. • The Board received F'. E. Slick's bid for- one year Fifteen Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty-seven Dollars, for Four years Fifty-nine Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty Dollars: For one year $15,437.00 n four " 59,960.00 Albert H. Schneider' s Bid: For Four years $61,000.00 Mr. `Peltz moved these bids be taken under advisement. Seconded by Mr. Taylor. The Board' then adjourned. • Presi d$,fit of the Board.
