Monday, March 31 , 1919. •
The Board of Public Works of the City of ni:chmond , Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of the said Board , Monday, Mar.
31st , 1919 , at 8 : 30 A.M. All members of the said Board being
- resent , Messrs . .Johnson, Taylor, and. Peitz , the, following pro-
ceedings were had to-wit : -
The Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved, as
amended.
Mr. Peitz moved that the Minutes of the previous meeting in re-
gard to collecting a license for bill boards ,be :amended by strik-
ing out"fret January 1st , 1918 , " and to read ,all back license
- fees. Seconded by Mr. Taylor.
A petiti on was presented for improvement of the alley between S. '
13th & 1 th Otreets from the first alleysouth of Main St . to S . •
"A" St . providing for a cement roadway to be constructed the full
width thereof between points named abovesigned by .Fred J.• Bartel
and eight ( 81 others.. The Beard instructed the Engineer to get
up plans for the improvement of said alley from first alley south
of Main St . to South "C" Street .

The Board instructed the St . Commissioner to remove the trash •
from the first alley north of N. "J" St . between 10th & 12th Sts.
The Board instructed the Supt . of the Light Plant to purchase a
car load of Pocahcntas Coal for the Street Dept . , and also to •
purchase the necessary coal for all the other departments for the
- winter of 1919 & 1920.
The-Board- instructed-Mr. Davis , City Lngineer, to purchase of Mr.
Peacock the necessary pebbels for street oiling for 1919 .
The Board granted John ^t . hethmeyer , and Leverett Haseltine per-
mission to cultivate Chestnut St . west of 5th St . for the season
of 1919 .
,The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the proper parties to
remove a dead tree from infront of property at 231 South 12th St .
• The Board then adjourned. •
