The Board of Public Works of the Cit;r of hichmcnd , Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of the :aid Board , idcnday,
March 24th . 1919 , at 8 : 30 A. M. All members' of the said Board
being preser_t ;Messrs . Johnson, Taylor and Peitz , the following
proceedim.gs were had to wit :
. Minutes cf the previous meeting read and were approved .
H. H . Nickens ask the Board for permission to 'garden the ground.
at the site of gravel pit near held Memorial hospital .
Mr. Feltz moved that the City Engineer end Mr. Taylor determine
a reasonable cash rent for said ground , .and present to Mr. ilicrens .
seconded by ;,fir. Taylor , so ordered.
A petition was presented for the improvement of the North side
of ;.youth B street , by constructing a cement side walk, curb and
gutter from east terminal of the present dement walk to the south
21st. street . 6i 'ned by Margaret P. Harwood and A. d . Harwood ,

structing a cement side walk six foot ( 6 ft . ) wide , also curb
and gutter from the east terminal of the present cement side

the .Board instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids .

r . ;Li ller , Fire Chief presented the Board a rec;uest from the
state Fire Marsh ll to have the cities adopt the s ,eci clil fire
couplings so that the different cities , in case of fire , could
couple on to the fire plugs .
The Board instructed the Fire Chief to take this matter up and":_
report to the State Fire Marshall . I/
The Board _instructed Fire Chief Miller tc take up with the l,ichmond
City ,pater 'iiorks , the matter of painting the fire hydrants some
light color to meet the desire of the Chief of the Fire Department .
The Board received bids for the- improvement of alley between south
21st . and south 22nd . streets from south n, south to the north
line of the ract 057 , official map of the ci t7 of Michmond . By
constructing cement roadway, under improvement resoluti on 755'3-
1319 . as follows to wit :

Cement roadway complete (0. 25 per-sq . : ft.
Jo cther bids being received and Mr . Burkhardts bid being within
the estimate of the City Civil Engineer . Mr. Johnson moved the
contract he awarded to Mr . Bur-zhardt . , ec onded by r . Ta-ylor, so
ordered .
