HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-17-1919 Office of the Board of Public Works , 277 City of Richmond , Indiana, Monday, February 17 , 1919. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Monday , February 17, 1919 , at 8 :30 A.M. All members of the said Board being pre- sent Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz , the follovang proceedings were had to-wit : - Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. I/ Mr. Peltz moved that a resolution be prepared and presented to Council requesting that the Judge of Wayne County appoint apprais- ers to appraise certain real estate belonging to the City describ- ed as follows: 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 41 in the Hanover Addition to the City of Richmond with the view of selling same. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. - The Clerk read a letter from the Natl. Septic Process Protective League in regard to sewer disposal plant . The Board referred this _ matter to the City Engineer to take up with the City Atty. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 560-1919 for the improvement of North A St . from North 5th to North 16th by • _constructing a cement sidewalk on both sides of said street 72 ft. except on such portion of said street where cement sidewalk is al- ready laid and in good condition. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by Resolution #557-1919 providing for the construction of cement roadway the full width in alley between North 15th & 16th from North B to North C Street. After hearing all persons interest ed who appeared and a remonstrance having been filed signed by a majority of resident property owners whose property is abutting on the above improvement , the Board can proceed no further with said improvement unless authorized by an ordinance passed by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor. Mr. Peltz moved that the matte' of above improvement be referrred. to the Common Council. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. Mr. Davis , City Eng. , brought up the matter in regard to the St. Dept . cleaning private sewers , and suggested that the Board set a price to be charged per hour and that a deposit be made. Mr. Pelt2 moved that $2.00 per hour be charged by the St . Dept. for cleaning private sewers , and a deposit be made by all parties having such • work done. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board instructed that the bill the City holds against A. Harsh for cleaning private sewer be turned over to the City Atty. for collection. Mr. Peitz moved that the traffic sign that Mr. Johnson saw in Ft. Wayne, Indiana be tried out at the corner of 8th & Main Streets. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. Mr. Peitz informed the Board that he would be absent at the meetini Thursday„February 20th. The Board did then adjourn. Attest : ' Clerk of the Board: Presi ent of the Board.
