Richmond by paving the roadway of said street on such portion as
is not provided for by the 3-Mile Road Proceedings pending before
the Board of County Commissioners of Wayne County, Indiana, such
street paving to be of like kind adopted by said Board of County
- Commissioners and also for the improvement of said street by the
building of cement curb and gutter on either side , signed by
Howard B. Geier and 18 others. Referred to the City Engineer for
plans.

The Board took up with the citizens that had been invited to meet
with them to take up the proposition of a West-side Blvd. begin--
- nine at West 5th St. and Natl . Road to South G St . and connect
- with the South G St. Bridge , to. be 80 ft. wide , then out South G
St. to the Abington Pike , to be 70ft. wide. After being thorough-
ly discussed by the citizens present and the Board of Works Mr.
- Henry Bode moved that the proposition .of the West-side Blvd. and
South G St . Bridge be indorsed, and that the Mayor and Board of
Works appoint a committee to take up said proposition. Motion pre-
- vailed. The following committee was appointed by the Mayor and
Board of Works , Messrs. E. M. Campfield, W. W. Reller, George
-. " Seidel , Henry Bode, Carl Ullman , Atwood Jenkins, Hohn H. Johnson,
and Mathew Von Pein.
The Board did then adjourn.

Thursday , February 6th , 1919 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, India a, met
in regular session at the office of the said Board , Thursday, Feb.
6th , 1919 , at 8: 30 A.M. All members of the said .Board being pre-
sent Messrs. Johnson, Taylor , and Peltz , the following proceedings
were had to-wit : -
Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.
I/ The Board instructed the St. Commissioner to let the men of the
Street Dept. off every two weeks on Saturday "afternoon, it being
. pay day, and have the men call at the City Bldg. at 1 o' clock or
after for their pay.
Mr. James Bryant appeared before the Board and asked permission to
remove the dead trees from Westside 7th Street Park for the wood.
The Board informed Mr. Bryant that they would take this matter up
with Mr. Hollarn, Supt . of Parks.
274, Thursday, February 6th, 1919.
The Board instructed Mr. Dillon, 8utp . of the Light Plant , to
put the alley lights all on on-e circuit in the first alley
north and south of Main St . from 4th to 12th Street.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.558-
1919 providing for the improvement of South 9th St . from
South E Street to the South Corporation line of the City by
paving the roadway on such portions of said street as is not
provided for by the 3-Mile Road Proceedings for the improve-
` ment of such highway now pending bef.orethe Board of County
' Commissioners of Wayne Co. , Ind. , such street paving to be of .I/
like kind as that adopted by said Board of County Commission-
ers, and also for the improvement of said street by the build-
- ing of cement curb and gutter on either side thereof; said
street to be paved with one of the following kind of pave-
- ment to-wit : - Brick, concrete, creosoted wood-block, or bi-
tuminous macadam on concrete base.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 559-
1919 .providing for the improvement of alley between S. 21st
and 22nd Streets by constructing a cement roadway in said al-
ley the full width thereof from South A St. south` to the
north line of tract 537 Official Map of the City of Richmond,
Indiana.
The Board instructed the Engineer to get up plans for curb &
gutter & paving of Ft . Wayne Ave. from North D St. to Main St.
and South 4th St. from Main to. South -A St . , and South A from
4th to 5th St.
Bills to the amount of 017 ,972.33 were allowed and ordered
paid.
The Board approved the various payrolls up to Feb. 1st , 1919.
The Board did then adjourn.
