The Board instructed the Clerk to write letters to the follow- ing citizens : Howard Dill, Carl Ullman, J. H. Johnson, Ed. U. Wilson, E. A. Campfield, Wm. Roller, Adam Bartel , Henry Gold- finger, Elmer Eggemeyer, Oscar Dickenson, William ]!artel Jr. Henry Bode , Howard Hortan, Ray Robinson, Geo . Shoffer, Atwood Jenkins , and Willard Carr, requesting that they meet with the Board of Public Works, Monday, February 3d . 1919 at., 9 :00 A.M. I/ to talk over the matter of the proposed boulevard. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Mon- day, February 3rd. 1919 , at 8 :30 A.M. All members of the said Board being present Messrs. Johnson,- Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had to-wit:- Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The Board approved and signed the petition of Joe Stevenson granting him permisson to cut a 16 ft. driveway in the curb in front of property #27 B. & L. Add. , South 10th Street , all work to be done at the petitioner' s expense and in ,accordance with the standard specifications for such work, subject to the inspection of the City Engineer. Mr. Davis , City Engineer, reporter to the Board that B. A. Kennepohl had offered a lot on Liberty Avenue to the City for dumping purposes , also reporter that Swayne , Robinson Co. in filling up their ground in the Varley Add. are covering up a manhole that should be raised. The Board instructed, the Eng. I/ to raise said manhole. . Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plait, reported to the Board that the P. C.C. & St. L. R.R. had accepted the City' s propo- sition for light & power. A petition was presented for the improvement of S. 9th St . of the City of from South E St . to the south corporation-line Monday, February 3rd, 1919. 273 Richmond by paving the roadway of said street on such portion as is not provided for by the 3-Mile Road Proceedings pending before the Board of County Commissioners of Wayne County, Indiana, such street paving to be of like kind adopted by said Board of County - Commissioners and also for the improvement of said street by the building of cement curb and gutter on either side , signed by Howard B. Geier and 18 others. Referred to the City Engineer for plans. I/ The Board took up with the citizens that had been invited to meet with them to take up the proposition of a West-side Blvd. begin- - ning at West 5th St. and Natl . Road to South G St . and connect - with the South G St. Bridge , to. be 80 ft. wide , then out South G St . to the Abington Pike , to be 70ft. wide. After being thorough- ly discussed by the citizens present and the Board of Works Mr. - Henry Bode moved that the pr.opositi on .of the West-side Blvd. and South G St . Bridge be indorsed, and that the Mayor and Board of Works appoint a committee to take up said proposition. Motion pre- - vailed. The following committee was appointed by the Mayor and Board of Works , Messrs. B. M. Campfield , W. W. Reller, George -. ' Seidel , Henry Bode , Carl Ullman , Atwood Jenkins , Hohn H. Johnson, and Mathew Von Pein. The Board did then adjourn. Presid ht of the Board. The Board of Public Works of the city of Richmond, India a, met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Thursday, Feb. 6th , 1919 , at 8: 30 A.M. All members of the said Board being pre- sent Messrs. Johnson, Taylor , and Pelts , the following proceedings were had to-wit : - Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved . The Board instructed the St . Commissioner to let the men of the Street Dept. off every two weeks on Saturday afternoon, it being. _ pay day, and have the men call at the City Bldg. at 1 o' clock or after for their pay. Mr. James Bryant appeared before the Board and asked permission to remove the dead trees from Westside 7th Street Park for the wood. The Board informed Mr. Bryant that they would take this matter up with Mr. Hollarn, Supt . of Parks.
