In the absence of Mayor Selfridge, Vera Krnac, Village Clerk called the
meeting to order at 7:30 P.M, with the pledge to the flag.
W. Sharp made a motion to appoint G. Ansley President Pro-tem. Seconded
by M. Latta. Vote by roll call. Lambert, aye; Dement, aye; Ansley, pass;
Sharp, aye; Latta, aye; King, aye. 5 ayes, 1 pass. Motion declared
carried.
Roll call was taken, President Selfridge was absent.
J. King made a motion to approve the agenda as written with the addition
of an executive session on personnel, not to reconvene.
J. Dement made a motion to approve the invoices for payment. Seconded by

G. Ansley read a letter from Jahn Foens, Director of Plainfield Township
~'azk District in 7:eference fo National. Organization on Disability requesting
tli.e ir~ypx appoint 1'Ir. 'FaexTS liaison between the local government and the
National Organization.

and Sons Construction Co., who are tike contractors far the remodeling of
the 'Fi?°e Station. There was Tnuch discussion ~ should the water tap-on
• fee of $1,000.00 be waived to Pasch and Sons because it (Fire District)
is a taxi'n,g body. G. Ansley stated the tap--on fee for the Park District
SwiTT~mng Pool was not waived. J. West stated he had contacted the
contractors by, telephone many times stating they Trust provide the Village
with the entire plans and specs. far the work they were going to do to
the Fire Station.

J. King made a motion tv direct the attorney to write an agreement with
the Fire District for housing and dispatching personnel in the Village
Hall for an .approximate period of 6 months at no charge to the Fire
District. We have approximately $40,000.00 in uncollected ambulance
bills, and we will turn those over to the Fire District. Seconded by
W. Sharp. Vote by roll call. Lambert, aye; Dement, aye; Ansley, aye;

carried.
W. Sharp read a letter fra~n IDOT in ,reference to Ordinance 1f981 - which
prohibits the northbound. left turns from Illinois 59 to Tllinois 126
(Main Street). IDOT is requesting the Board reconsider its position.
Afiter much discussion the Board directed the Village Administrator to
write to iDOT stating our position and then we will consider rescinding
our ordinance.
W. Sharp made a motion to approve the contract with Commonwealth Edison
to 3:nstal.l two street lights, N.E. Corner of Main and Penn Road and
NS Maple Court, East End, at a cost of $11.09 per month per light.

GI. Sharp made a 1notion to table the Plainfield/State Agreement for
widening 'Route 59' until next Board Meeting so we are able to be better
in~cirmed on the details of the agreement. Seconded by J. Dement. Vote

W. Sharp read two quotes for heating our street garage;

W. S'liarp-made a motion to accept the quote from Plainfield Refrigeration
at $2;825, 0'O providing this quote Carr-ies a warranty of one year on all

W. Sharp stated the Water, Sewer and Street Departments were given a
drawing table trap, one stool, two chairs and a desk by an anonymous donor.
~. l7ex~lent ,reported th.e 1969 dump truck that was damaged by the flood this
summer is xetired, we received-.$800.00 minus the deductible from insurance.
The ~ck~-up truck is driveable, but just barely. We keep it on hand for
an emergency;. This 7,eaves`us with only one vehicle in good condition -
the van.

J. Dement made a motion to advertise for bids for a 19$4 - Ton pickup
truck, specs available in Clerks office. Seconded by W. Sharp. Vote by
roll call. Lambert, aye; Dement, aye; Ansley, aye; Sharp, aye; Latta, aye;
King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. Dement made a motion to approve the Village Office rearrangement; this
will allow transactions made from a window, cost of remodelling not to
exceed $200.00. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call. Lambert, aye;
Dement, aye; Ansley, aye; Sharp, aye; Latta, aye; King, aye. 6 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley reported on correspondence from IMRF. At present, employees
contribute 4~% toward their retirement, this 4~% is taxable. The letter
states if this law on the docket in the Senate is passed there will be an
increase in the employee members' current net wages by deferring payment
of the Federal and State Income Taxes on the 4~% IMRF employee contributions.
W. Sharp made a motion to pass Resolution ~~831 which permits employers to
make pay~ent of employees contributions to the IMRF, on the approval of
the Library employees. Seconded by K, King. Vote by roll call. Lambert,

no nays. Motion declared carried.
w,,Sharp made a motion to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to sign
the statement assuring the office of Revenue Sharing that the Village
ofP1ain~ield will comply with the requirements of the .Revenue Sharing
Act 3X U,S.G« 6701-6724. Seconded by J. Dement. Vote by ro11 ca11.

J, King made a motion to authorize the endorsement of the $2,000.00 check
from Revenue Sharing over to Plainfield Commerce Association and authorize
an additional check of $1,000,00 be sent to Plainfield Gommerce Association,
bringing the total to $3,000«OO we are giving to Plainfield Commerce
Association, Also, notify the Township that we have received the award
and their agreement was to award $1,000.00 to the Plainfield Commerce
Association. Seconded by M. Latta. Vote by roll call. Lambert, aye;
