The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , .Monday, January 20th. 1919 at 8 : 30 A. M. All members of the said Board being present. Messrs. Johnson , Taylor and Peitz - The . following proceedings were had to-wit :I/ Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The Board :instructed the City Engineer to have the roadway on Newmans Hill repaired . The Board unanimousily adopted improvement resolution :557- 1919 , for the construction of a cement roadway in alley between north 15th. & 16th. streets from. north B to north C streets. - Mr. Davis , City Engineer read a communication from the Starr Piano Company accepting the cities preposition of transfering: lots numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, and 41 in the Hannover addition, for the sume of 200.00. Mr. Johnson moved that the City Attorney be instructed to close up this matter with the Starr Piano Co. Seconded by Mr.• Taylor, so ordered. The Board instructed the Street Commissioner to call , by phone, the City Engineers Office at the hours of 8 : 30 & 9 :30 A. M and 2:00 & 3:00 P. M. Daily. • Mr. Peitz moved that the City Engineer and one member of the Board of Works go to Indianapolis, Indiana; Wednesday, January 22nd . 1919 to investigate and look after coal handling device for the Light Plant . Seconded by Taylor, so ordered. The Board instructed the City Engineer to have the "No Parking Signs" removed from the trolly poles on Main Street. The Board instructed the City Clerk to present to Common Council a-recomendation Ito have that part of the Parking Ordinance changed, which prohibits the parking on the east side of 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9 and 10th streets , between north A and south A streets , to read-west side of said streets. The Board took up the matter of planting Red. Oak trees in honor of the boys of Wayne County, who, were killed in the Worlds War. Mr Peltz moved that the necessary Red Oak trees be pirchased and planted under the direction of the City Forrester and Park Supt . In memory of the boys who were killed in action. Seconded by Taylor , so ordered. Bills to the amount of '8435.73 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various pay rolls up to January 16th. 1919 . The Board did then adjourn.
