Mr. Peltz moved that the Board of Public Works , of the City of

8: 30 A. M. Seconded by Mr. Johnson, So ordered. .

Monday January 13th. 1919.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met
in regular session at the office,. of the said Board, Monday Jan-
uary 13th. 1919 at 8 :30 A. M. All members of the said Board
being present Messrs. Iohnson, Taylor and Peltz , the following
proceedings were had to-wit :
Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.

Dear Sir:
We have your communication of January 6th calling atten-
tion to a report from the Chautauqua Association. This has
been delayed on account of late bills and a question of war
tax on admissions being settled. We will get this matter ad-
justed as soon as we possibly can and comply with the board' s
request.

ln pursuance of the request of the Common Council of this city,
his honor, William A. Bond, Judge pro-tem, of the Wayne Circuit
Court, appointed Messrs. Eben Louck, Chas. R. Woodhurst, and
Howard J. Gluyis as appraisers to appraise the Motor Generator
-belonging to the M. E. L. & P. Plant of the city. of Richmond
and with the view of selling same.

The Board granted Loring and Forrest Miller permission to instal
a gasoline dispensary in front - of 35 and 37 So. 6th St. , provided
they file a bond and contract with the Board for their approval.
Mr. Davis reported that he would have plans for the handling of
coal and ashes at the M. E. Le & P. Plant , ready to submit to the
Board in a few days.
Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant reported to the Board that
- he sold Samuel Jaffe 13,485 pounds of scrap iron at 420.00 per
ton, amounting to 4134.85. and 16 ,040 pounds of scrap iron at
$16.00 per ton amounting to 0128.32, also 300 pnunds . of sheet
iron 30 cents per hundred, amounting to 90' cents; giving Mr.
Jaffe a credit of 85 cents for some cut washers. Total amount
of sale is 4263. 23.
Board took up with Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, the matter of Dis—
posing of the old ladder truck at No. 3 Hose House . Mr.. Miller
advised the board it would be a good policy to keep the wheels,
ladder, and_axles. Mr. Peltz moved the this matter be referred
to the Fire Chief to be disposed of to the best advantage.
Seconded by " r. Taylor, so ordered.
A complaint was filed with the Board that steam from the Rich-
mond Baking Co. was escaping into the alley between So. 5th
and 6th St. Mr. Peltz moved that the City Engineer and Fire
Chief take this matter up with the Richmond .Baking Co. Seconded
by Mr. Taylor, so ordered.
The Board granted the Likenew Auto Tire Co. permission to instal
an air box in front of 1137 Main St.
The Board did then adjourn.
