AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its FA-3 Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to construct improvements on or near Salisbury Road; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Four Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Dollars ($495,520.00) to be spent over a three (3) year period is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to One Million Eight Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand Eighty Dollars ($1,862,080.00).
3. A request for One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) will be made for construction engineering for Phase I at the Salisbury Road widening project.
4. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds in an amount up to Four Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Dollars ($495,520.00) as matching funds
for said grant.
5. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to construct improvements on or near Salisbury Road.
