Federal Revenue Sharing Hearing
PUBLIC HEARING

Mayor Latta opened the meeting at 6;35 p.m.
Roll call was taken, all members were present.
Mayor Latta turned the heating over to J. Boatz.
J. Bootz questioned if there was anyone attending the meeting who have
requests for Revenue Sharing.
Randy Varju, Development Coordinator for Easter Seals, stated there are
many services provided by Easter Seals. They provide comprehensive out-
patient rehabilitation services to the disabled communities of both Will
and Grundy Counties. Last year, 18 disabled children and adults from the
Plainfield area received assistance from Easter Seals. They also provide
preventive care programs and we have just started a CRA W Center for
Residential Alternatives, in Joliet.. It serves as a home setting for eight
multiple disabled women as an alternative to institutionalization, We
respectfully request $1,000.00 of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to be
utilized in continuing to provide needed rehabilitation care and related
services.
K. Callanan requested $8,000.00 for recodification of the Village ordinances,
$2,000.00 for review of our Historic Preservation ordinance by Attorney
Richard J. Roddewig.
J. Peterson requested $2,000.00 seed money for the Prime Time Program;
$1,000.00 for employment of a counselor at the High Shool for the Xouth
Program..
Mayor Latta read a letter of request from Plainfield Township requesting
funds (no specific amount requested) for the GJHET/PACE System. At a
meeting a few weeks ago, their proposed figures for expenses for this
program had. raised 180% higher than last year. They will try to revise
their figures and come up with a lower budget. This program is for bus
service for seniors and the handicapped.

0 no. Motion carried.
