Thursday, December 12, 1918.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday, Dec. 12, 193E
at 9:00 A.M. All members of said: Board being present Messrs. John-
son, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had, to-wit :-
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.
Mr. Johnson asked to be excused from the Board meetings December 16,
and 19th for business reasons. Request was granted.
Mr. Peitz moved that the Board reconsider their action taken at a
Special Session Monday October 28 , 19181 in regard to increasing of
Firemen' s salaries 410.00 per month, seconded by Mr. Taylor so or-
dered. Then Mr. Peitz moved that the Board recommend to Council
that each fireman whose salary is less than 4100.00 per month be
increased 010.00 per month/to take effect January 1st 1919. Second-
ed by Mr. Taylor so ordered-.-
The Board instructed the building inspector to house up the electric
vacuum pump in the City Building.

On motion the Board instructed the Clerk to place on the minutes
the call of a Special Meeting of the Board of Works by the Mayor
Sat ._ Dec. 7th, 1918 to meet at the City Attorney' s office to confer
about sending representives to the City of Washington D.C. to con-
- cider the Gas Question with Government .Officials and Owners of the
Gas Fields by request of -Mr. Woolen, State Fuel Administrator. At
that meeting a motion was made by Mr. Taylor and Seconded by Mr.
Peltz that the City Atty. , and Wayne County Fuel Administrator re-
present .the City and: that the City pay their expenses .
Mr. Davis, City Engineer, reported the completion of the contract
of the Stanley Plumbing & Electrical .Company for the installation
of the two pipe vacuum system under Improvement Resolution 556.1918
_ Mr. Johnson moved that the heating plant be accepted and the bill
of 44,028 .80 less credits due and 5% retained for One Year be al-
lowed and ordered paid. Seconded by Mr. Peltz so ordered .
The Board did then adjourn.
