Mr. Davis, City Engineer , reported that the Stanley Plumbing & Electric Company would pipe hot water to the first floor, and . put in a.#l. sink for the sum of $53.00. The Board instructed the Engineer to get other estimates on this work. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday, Nov. 4, 1918 , at 9:00 A.M. All members of said Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peltz, the following proceedings were had, to-wit:- The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The City 0ivil Engineer reported the completion of contract un- der improvement resolution # 552 - 1918 for the paving of south 8th Street with conarate from the north line of south 8th street to the south corporation limits of the city of Richmond, Indiana by paving the roadway on such portion of said street as is not improved by paving, under provisions of the Three-Mil& Road law, which improvement was ordered by the Board of County Commission- ers on April 1st , 1918. • On motion the Board accepted same and ordered an Assessment Roll prepared. Mr. Horace Kramer appeared before the Board in regard to having north-west 4th Street. repaired from Richmond Avenue to Chestnut Street, Mr. Kramer also reported the bad condition of southside of Richmond Avenue from let Street west. Referred to City Eng. • Mayor W. W. Zimmerman reported the sewer openings on South 9th Street without grate coverings and should be given attention, also informed the Board that North G. Street should be looked after. Referred to the City Engineer. Mr. Johnson reported the bad condition of north-west 2nd street south of Richmond Avenue. Referred to the City Engineer. Mr. Davis brought the matter before the Board in regard to the proposed purchase of the Joseph T. Gist gravel pit. The Board instructed the City Engineer to take this matter up with the city atty. Monday, November 4, 1918. 247 The Clerk read, the following communication from the Starr Piano Co. : November 2. 1918. Board of Public Works, C I T Y. Gentlemen:Referring. to the matter of certain lands in the River Bottom and the proposition as suggested by your Mr. Davis and Mr. Johnson, I/ we wish to submit to you the following proposition: In exchange for lots 4 -5 - 6 - 7 - in Hanover Addition, which are now the City property, we will give you all the land that lies North of the continuation of the North line of the' official track 173 in the, city' of Richmond , as that line ifi continued across the river, and for lot 41 in Hanover's Addition, we suggest that we give you all of the land that touches the South side sewer in its • reaching to the river, (Lots 34 - 38 and 32) . We would be very glad to have your further suggestions on the matter. and hope that. we have made our proposition so that you will readily understand what we have in mind.
