The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday, October - 28, . 1918 . at 9:00 A.M. All members of said. Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceedings were had, to-wit :- The Minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The Mayor brought up the question of the City buying the Gist gravel pit north of town. Mr. Peitz moved that this matter be taken up by the Board of Works with the City Engineer and the City Attorney. Seconded by Mr.Taylor so ordered. Mr. Peitz brought up the question in regard to Fire Prevention Day asking for the Fire Dept . to make a parade that day. The Board decided to leave this matter to Mr. Peltz. The Board instructed the Street Commissioner to see that the men, get the leaves and the sweepings off the streets. Mr. Davis, City Engineer brought up the, matter of purchasing a St. Roller from the MacNamar Construction Company for the sum of Two- - Thousand ( 2000.00 ) -Dollars. The Board decided to take this matter up with Council. _ The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons Prirnari.ly Assessed on account of construction of the cement roadway in alley between South 5th & 6th St. from South "A" to South "B" St. under Improvement Resolution No. 555-1918. No one appearing or remon- strating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same tobe transmitted to the Dept . of Finance. The complaint of Alfred Griffith et al, members of the City of Richmond Fire Dept vis the City of Richmond , Indiana was filed by the National War Labor Board, signed by I. J. MoMasters, Examiner. The Board ordered the complaint placed on file. The Board instructed Mr. Davis, City Engineer, to get prices on the printing of ordinance for the digging and back-filling of trenches.
