The Board of Public ..or1.s of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday, October 17 , 1916, at 9 :00 A.M. 11 members of scia Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and .Feltz , the follov.ing proceedings were had , to-wit : - The Minutes of the GreviOus meeting read and were auproved . Mr. Davis informed the Board that there is an extenti.on (telephone at the Crematory that is not needed . Mr. Feltz moved that the Engineer be instructed to order said telephone taken out . Second- . by Mr. Taylor co ordered .' The Board instructed the City Engineer to have the Street Commis- sioner rut away the Street Sweeper . The Board instructed the City Engineer to take do\1_ the fountain at north 18th & C Sts . , and store it away until suitable location is found. Mr. Davis , City Engineer presented to the Board specifications for the collection, removal , and disposal of ashes and sv .t rin_s in Richmond , Indiana . Mr. Johnson moved that the Board go over said specifications with the City :engineer and familiarize them- selves with same before taking an y acti on, seconded by Mr. Peitz so ordered . The Board instructed the City Engineer to formulate suggestions to bring before the Board in regard to taking care of the weed situation. The Board approved add signed a petition of siin. F. oickett grant- ing him permission to cut a 14 ft . drive way in the curb on Charles St . at the side of property 1002 Boyer St . All work to be done at the petitioner' s expense , and in accordance with the Standard Specifiat.ions for such work , subject to the inspection and approval of the City Civil Engineer . The Board instructed Mr. Dillon, Supt . of the M. E. L. & P. F . to put in a light at front entrance to the Detention Hospital. Mr. Robbins , City Atty. , filed with the Clerk the report of Wm. J. Watson, and Walter. Braun , and W. K. Hatt , experts , in re- gard to the K. of P . Temple Bldg. At this meeting t1'ic matter was considered and discussed of the ,City joining with the Lichmond Home Telephone Company in an application •to the 'ubiic Cercice Commission of Indiana for the . temporary fixing of .rates by the Commission to be' charged by said Company in the City, solely under' section -122 of the Chiveley - 8pencer Utility Commission -Act of Indiana on account of present high extraordinary wages and overatiorn elaenses of the Company and present general extraordinary economice conditions affecting the Company which the Company- alleges creates an emergency under said Section_. Upon motion :duly carried the City Attorney was in- • struoted to prenare a form of such joint application and submit it .to the . next meeting of • the Board for further consideration of the Board , and if approved by the Board and the Company to be submitted for consideration and approval . of the Common Council . The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana met ih regular session at the office of said Board, Monday, October 21, 1918 , at 9:00 A.M. All members of said Board being present , Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had to-wit:- • The minutes of the previous- meeting read and were approved. Mr. Johnson stated to the Board that Mr. Hollarn,. Supt . of Glen Miller Park, had informed him that the male Elk had horned one of the Does so badly that she had to be killed Sunday, .October 20th. . The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Assessed on account of construction of cement curb, gutter, and sidewalk 6ft. wide on both sides of South 3rd St. from Main St. to. South A St. under Improvement Resolution No. 554-1918, no one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assess- ment Roll confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now. directs the same to be transmitted forthwith to the department of finance. • The -Clerk presented to the Board a report in reply to the request of the Board of Public Works in regard to- the K. of P. Temple Bldg. signed by John H. Meerhoff, Geo. R. Gause, Ebon Louck, Building Committee . of the Pythian Temple Association, Fred J. Hughes, Eng. , and Harry C. Starr, Financial Agent. (See report on file. ) Mr. • Pe]tz moved that the report be referred to the City Attorney. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
