Mr. Davis , City Engineer asked the Board if the City Atty.
had obtained a Contract from the Street Car Co. for their
portion of the South 8th Street improvement , under Imp.
Nesoluti.on No. 552-1918 . The Board informed Ia;r. Davis
they :could take this matter up with the City attorney.
The Board approved and asgned :a petit-don Harsh
I/ granting him permission to cut a 10ft . drive way in the
curb on the west side of South 2nd Street in front of
Lot 146, S. W. Smith' s Addition, all work to be done at the
petitioners expense and in accordance with the Standard
Specifications for such work—subject_tathe✓inspection_. -__._
of the City Civil Engineer.
The Board did then adjourn.

The Board of Public i"forks of the City of Nichmond, Indiana met
in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday, Septem-
ber 30 ,1918 , at 9 :00 A.M. All members` of said Board being pre-
sent , Liessers Johnson, Taylor and Peitz , the following proceed-
ings were had , to-wit : -
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were arproved.
His Hon. V . W . Zimmerman informed the Board that he had receiv-
ed communication from the Government requesting that no more
I/ improvements be made until after the War.
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Noll in the matter of
Improvement jresoluti on No . 554-1918 , providing for constructing
cement curb , gutter , and sidewalk 6' ft wide on both sides of
South 3rd Street from Lain to A.
Dr. Noss appeared before the Board and asked permission for the
ladies of the Ned Cross to use the unoccupied portion of the
West side hose house for their headquarters. Mr. Johnson moved
that the Clerk notify Dr. Ross , and Mr. Mi.11er ,Fire Chief, that
the Board would grant the request . Seconded by Mr. i'elt, .

1J.r . A. H. Gardner presented to the Board Claim of the Dickinson
Trust Co. for .i .7.98.08 paid to the M. E. L. & P. P . through an error
for the collecting for machinery shipped to McGovern & Co. , 114
Liberty St . , New York City. Mr. Feltz moved that the claim be
referred to the City Attorney. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so order-
ed.
Mr. Davis , City Engineer, brought up the matter in regard to re-
gulating traffic on the Doran Bridge. 1,fr. Johnson moved that the
City Engineer take down the danger sign, and replace with a sign
regulating motor vehicles to 6 miles per hour and prohibiting the I/
trotting of horses across said bridge , and the Clerk instructed
to notify the Police Dept.. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered .
The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Harry 'aiessel to make a
report on hauling of garbage same as he always had.
Mr. Taylor stated to the Board that Mr. Hollurn wanted permiss:i.oh
to place a fence around a pasture for his horses . Mr. Feltz moved
that Mr. Hollarn' s request be granted. Seconkded by Mr. Taylor
so ordered .
The Board did then adjourn. .

The Board approved and signed a joint petiti on of the City of
tichmond and the Richmond Light Heat & Power Co. to the Public

Natural Gas ratified -by Common Council September 30, 1918. (See "
Petition Record E, page 502. )
