The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana
met in regular session at the office of said Board , Thursday,
August 22, 1918 , at 9 :C0 A. M. All of the members of said
Board being present , Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peitz . The
following proceedings were had , To-wit : -
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.
The Clerk presented the matters referred to the Board by CornI/
-
mon Council on Monday, August 19 , 1918 , as follows : Tyr.
Schneider recommended that a suitable sign be placed at. the
South-east corner of Hunt and Charles Street , indicating that
Hunt Street is not open across the Railroad. Mr. Schweizer
recommended that the Light transferred from Hunt Street and
G.R.& I . Railroad to the corner of Ridge and State Street be
replaced. Also Mr. Waltermaia' s complaint of 'darning bells
continually ringing at the crossing of the C & 0 Railroad
on South "J" Street. The Board decided to investigate these
matters.
The Clerk presented the following letter from the Page Boiler
-- Co. as follows , to-wit :

Richmond, Indiana
Gentlemen:
Relative to our proposal No. 803--wherein we propose to fur-
nish 1000 H. P. of Page-Burton Sectional Water Tube Boilers, in
two units of 500 H. P. each--for the City of Richmond , beg
permission to inform you that our contract which is limited to
the 15th of this month, will be extended, as per your request ,
until Sept . 3d, at which time, or before , we depend upon a
definite decision relative to the acceptance.
Trusting this covers your request , while at your office on the
15th, we beg to remain,

On motion the letter was ordered placed on file.
Bills to the amount of 05,036 .07 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board approved the various payrolls up to and including
August 15, 1918.
The Board then adjourned. ��
