Thursday, August 15, 1918
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana •
met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday
August 15, 1918, at 9 :00 A. Y. All of the members of said
Board being present, Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peitz. The
following proceedings were had, to-wit : -
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.
The Board approved and signed the Contract and. Bond of D. G.
1/ .
Burkhardt , contractor , under Improvement Resolution No. 555-
1918.
Mr. Hollarn appeared before the Board and suggested that a
permanent walk be built through the Chatauqua grounds. The
Board and the City Engineer decided to investigate.
• The Board instructed the Street Commissioner to cut weeds on
all City Property.
Mr. Dillon reported to the Board the sale of 96 lbs. of brass
11 ,1751bs. of iron at 0.. 20 per hundred---
--$134.10. 1212 lbs. of copper wire at 23 -- 278 .76
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the contract
under Improvement Resolution No. 549-1918 , for a storm Water
Sewer on North 7th Street from North "A" to North "B" Street .
On motion the Board accepted same and ordered an assessment
roll prepared.
Mr. D. B. Davis , City .Engineer reported to the Board that Mr.
O. Rettig stated that he would sign a contract to give the
City 200.00 whenever the old ice pond on North 12th Street
was filled., Mr. Peitz moved that the Street Commissioner be
instructed to do all dumping on North 12th Street u--_til this
pond was filled and the City Attorney draw up a contract with
Mr. Rettig in relation to the filling of this Pond. Seconded
by Mr. Taylor.

The Board adjourned to meet at 1 :00 P. M. to take up the bids
on Boilers and Stokers for the Municipal Electric Lighting •
and Power Plant of Richmond.
Pursuant to adjournment the Board met at 1 :00 P. M. All the
members, the City Attorney and the 3np' t of the Light Plant
present to go over the bids and specifications for Boilers
and Stokers for the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant '. .

After hearing the various bidders present and carefully going
over the bids submitted. The appropriation not being large
enough to cover the cost and instalation of same, the Board
takes the bids under advisement and to await an Addition Ypp
ropriation from the Common Council.
The Board then adjourned
