RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH LUCENT
TECHNOLOGIES SOLUTIONS
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") is currently in the process
of improving and upgrading its various telephone systems in order to better serve
the citizens of the Borough; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has considered the various technology providers and
reviewed the cost associated with each; and
WHEREAS, Lucent Technologies Solutions ("Lucent") is available through a
State Contract and offers the best systems to the Borough at a competitive price.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the attached contract with Lucent to provide phone
systems for Borough Hall, the Library/Senior Center and Police Department is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the voice resolution adopted by Council on
October 14, 1999, approving the attached agreement, is hereby ratified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the Borough and any action
taken by either, consistent with this resolution, and taken subsequent to the voice
resolution of October 14, 1999 is hereby ratified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this contract is entered into without
competitive bidding in that it is being obtained through a State Contract with
Lucent.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect
immediately.
Adopted this 21st day of October, 1999
and certified as a true copy of the original
on October 22, 1999.
