HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-01-1918 • 208 Office of the Board of Public Works City of Richmond, Indiana Thursday, August 1 , 1918 The Board of Public Works of the City of Eichmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board , Thursday, August 1 , 1918 , at 9 :00 A. M. All of the members of said Board being present , Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peitz . The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. Mr. Johnson brought up. the matter in rec-ard to the bad con- dition of the tires of the Fire Chief' s machine, stating that I/ the size of these tires were discontinued and that Er. Miller could have his wheels cut down to use 34x42 tires for the price of $30.00. Yr.. Pelts moved that Fire Chief M i l l er be authorized to make the necessary change to the best advantage . Seconded by Mr. Taylor., so ordered. The Board instructed the City Engineer and the Street Commis- sioner to pick and roll South 6th Street from South "E" to the Corporation Limits of the City, and South 15th Street from "C" to "E" Street , also repair the roadway on either side of the temporary bridge. Mr. Pelts moved that the City Attorney draw up an article of agreement in regard to Carpenter Dam, until the transfer of the deed is made, so that the Light Plant can get a start on the repair of said dam. Seconded by Mr. Taylor . Mr. Pelts moved that the City Engineer make some provision for keeping sediment from entering the lake -at Glen Miller Park. Seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered . Upon the suggestion of Mr. Dillon the Board and the Mayor de- cided to go to Indianapolis Friday, August 2, 1918 and inspect Light Plant boiler rooms and equipment in order to get details and - information as they will have a contract to let- on boilers and stokers soon. The Board granted Charles Crivel , trustee of St. Paul Lutheran Church , permission to construct , under private contract , a cement wall on South 7th Street , between "C"• and "E" Street in front of Tract No. 346 & 347 • The Board did then adjourn.
