Monday, July 29 , 1918 . '
The Board of Public Works of the City of tichmond, Indiana
met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday
July 29 , 1918 at 9 :00 A. M. All of the members of said
Board being present , Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peitz.
The following proceedings were had , to-wit : -
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.
The Clerk read-aletter from John B. Thompson; Sup't of the
Travelers Indemnity Co. of Hartford, Conn. , in regard to the
inspection of the horizontal tubular boiler in the City Hall,
stating that this boiler had been approved for a maximum of
25 pounds and would be accepted for insurance at that pressure .
Mr. Peitz moved that the _City insure the boiler for three years
for the sum of $44 . 20. Seconded by Mr. Taylor.
Mr. Peitz moved that the Clerk write Mr, E. F. Murphy, City
Gardener, that he must conform with the regulations and -the
Market Ordinance of the City Markets, also must have the Market
place put in good order after the Juvenile markets and that the
markets be held only for the sale of the produce raised by chil-
. dren and not by adults and for him to see that no vegetables are
sold by adults. Seconded by Mr. Taylor,- so ordered.
Mr. Taylor informed the Board that George H. Eggemeyer wished to
have the old pond at the Hospital filled as soon as possible.
Mr. Johnson moved that this be referred to the City Engineer and
the Street Commissioner . Seconded by Mr. Taylor .
The Board took up the matter as to the advisability of dredging
the lake in Glen Miller Park. No action taken.
Mr., Peltz also called the Board' s attention to the fact that the
Alley men wanted more money or straight time . No action taken .
Mr. Robbins , City Attorney, took up the matter with the Board of
• supplying steam to the Li Tht,. Heat & Power Co. After some_ debate
on this subject it was left open to further investigation.
The Board then adjourned.
