HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-15-1918 - Specail Session pecial session 82 Office of the oard of Public Works City of Richmond, Indiana Saturday, June 15, 1918 The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana met in special session in the office of the said Board, Sat- _ urday, June 15, 1918 at 10 :00 A. M. All the members of said Board being present , Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peltz. The following proceedings were had to-wit : The Board received bids for the Improvement of South 8th St. . under Improvement Resolution No. 552-1918 , for the improve- ment of South 8th Street from the North line of South "H" St. to the South Corporation limits of the City of Richmond,, Ind- iana, by paving the roadway on 'such portions of said Street as is not improved by paving under the provisions of the "Three Mile Road Law" which improvement was ordered by the Board of County Commissioners on April 1, 1918, said street to be paved with one of the following kinds of pavements, to- wit : Brick, Concrete, Creosoted Wood-block or Bituminous Macadam on a Concrete Base. C. M. -Kirkpatrick, Bid : Concrete per Square Yard $2.12 Jas. E. McNamara Construction Co. , Bid: Concrete per Square Yard $2.25 On motion of Mr. Peltz the Board now decides that as the County' s portion of this improvement is to be concrete, The Board designates that said South 8th. Street be improved by paving the roadway with Concrete according _to the plans and spe.cifications(. and as Mr., Kirkpatrick' s bid is below the :City Civil Engineer' s estimate that he be awarded the con- tract. Seconded by Mr. Taylor . The Motion prevailed. The Board approved a plat representing nine building lots numbered from 1 to 9 inclusive , laid out by Clarence C. Brown` and Allen Jay, in the Southwest quarter of Section 34 , Township 14, Range 1 west , in Wayne County in the State of Indiana. . Mr. Peitz brought up the:,matter , in"regard 'to granting the privilege to ,the Contractor for the South 8th Street improve- ment of hauling gravel over Main Street . Mr. Peitz moved that the Contractor for the South 8th Street improvement be granted this privilege of hauling gravel over Main Street , providing that said Conctractor use tight wagon and truck 111 beds in order that no gravel would be scatter on the Street.
