Public hearing fox' Library Farrn Annexation and establishment of
I-1 zoning.
P. Waldock reported the subject site is 168.98 acres owned by the
Library District. The property, which is vacant farmland at this
time, is located along the west side of Van Dyke Road, South of
143rd Street and East of Route 30. Subject site is proposed far
annexation; it's guided by the Village Comprehensive Plan of 1988 for
use as industrial and office development. No major issues are
identified during the review of this particular request. The site is
accessible to Village sewer and water and is also contiguous to
the Village boundaries at this time.
The finding of the Plan Commission is that the annexation and proposed
zoning conforms with the Village`s 1988 Comprehensive Plan; the site
is contiguous to the Village boundary; the site is accessible to sewer
and water services; and the extension of municipal services to the
subject site will not overburden current systems. For this reason,
the Plan Commission by a vote of 6-0 recommends approval of the
annexation and establishment of I-1 zoning at the Library Farm property.
There was a short discussion regarding the five-year time limit of the
agreement. J. Harvey stated he doesn't think the Library had anything
attached to the significance of the five years. There is nothing
staged or developmental in this agreement.
There were no comments from the public.
D. Lewin moved to adjourn the public hearing. Seconded by
D. Gullicksen. Voice vote. 4 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
