The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana. met
in regular session at the office of the said Board, Monday, •May
6th,1918 at 9t00co' ciock>A. II. Two of the members of said Board
being present , Messrs. Taylor and. Peitz ; absent Mr. Johnson.
• The following proceedigs were had to-wit :
The minutes of previous meeting read and were approved.
The. Clerk read a communicat i on from the Public Service Commission
of Indiana stating that the petition of W.B. Dye and others vs.
Richmond Light Heat & Power ljompany to reduce Gas Rates has been
dismissed upon request of petitioners. Mr. Feltz moved. that this
be r_s.de a matter o_f record, seconded by Mr. Taylor, so ordered/
Mr. Peitz brought up the matter of '-or. Colburn and Dr. Bramcamp
dumping waste paper in the alley and allowing same to blow out
on the street. Mr . Peitz moved that the Clerk notify these
people 'to discontinue this and have a receptacle to hold. this
raper, seconded by Er. Taylor, so ordered.
The Board stated that it had been decided to put a new composition
roof on the Market House as the old roof is beyond repair.
Piirsuant to notice of an amendment to the Hackman-Klehfoth & Co .
• . contract , the Board meets to hear remonstrances, if any, against
said amendment of contract presented by the _Hackman-Hlehfoth Co.
• a corporation, to place a switch track on North F. street .
(See page 150-151 ) The Board at the regular meeting April 18th ,
1918 fixed May 6th ,1918 at a time to hear remonstrances against
amended contract of Hackman Klehfoth & Company to place a_switch
track on North F. Street. After hearing arm persons who appeared
(no one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed against
said amendment to contract ) and proof of publ icati on of said
amendment from the Richmond ltei and Palladium and Sun Telegram,
daily newspapers in and for said city having been filed and
notice of said. hearing having been posted in ten public places
• in said city of Richmond , Indiana, the Board unanintusly approved
said contract and agreement, subject to the ratification and
approval by Common Council of Said City .
Mr. Peitz moved that the • City Engineer get up notice and have
same printed in daily papers in regard to cost of Tarvia B, sec-
onded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered .
to present to Council
The Board ordered the City 2ttorney to draw up ordinance/asking
for:?an appropriation of 0550.00 for the lease of Sewer Cleaning
Machine.
The Board received bids on Motor Truck for Light Plant , as follows

Mr. Pelts moved that the Board take these bids under consid-
eration and set Thursday, May 9th , 1918 at 2 : 00 o' cl oc , P .M.
for bidders to demonstrate these trucks, seconded by Mr.
Taylor , so ordered.
Bills for the am ntof $13579; 7were allowed and crdered paid .
Ehe Board approved various ray rolls up to and including
Saturday, May 4th , 1918 .
The Board then adjourned.
