Two . of the members of said Board being present , McEsrs. Taylor & Peitz , absent, Mr. Johnson. The following proceddings were had to- wit • - TThe minutes rf previous meeting read and were approved. The clerk presented a petition for the improvement of North 3d`.street as follows : both sides of North 3d street frcom Main street to North D street providing for paving of said street between the points named with one of the following kinds of paveme. t , to-wit: Brick, Concrete, Wood Block or Bituminous macadam on concrete base. Also curb, gutter and walk on that portion of said street proposed to be widened provided that said north 3d street is widened thirty five feet from the south line of North D street approximately 220 feet southwestwardly according to the plans for said widening, The Board referred this to the City Engineer for plans and specifications. The Clerk presented a petition providing for a 12" Sanitary Sewer in the alley between N. W.' 2d street & Hunt Street from • 68 .feet south of first alley south of Charles street to State Street, signed by Wesley Brown and Frank M. Miller, Mr. Feltz moved that this be referred to city Engineer for plans arid. specifications, seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered. The Board instructed the Clerk to have the city attorney draw up contract for Tarvia "B" per bid of Barrett Co . which was awarded the Barrett Co . Monday, nrri l 2 2 ,1918 . • Mr. Hunt , Inspector of weights and Measures appeared before the Board in regard to setting order to get his dies for seal- ing of weights and measures repaired. Mr. Taylor moved. that Mr. Hunt ' s request be granted, seconded by Mr . Peitz . . so ordered. • Mr. Hunt, alto called the Board' s attention to the toilet at the market house . The Board referred this to the City -ngi neer. Mrs Hunt also stated' the roof at' the market house was in bad con • dition and needed repairs. The Board referred this to theBldg. Iffi sp e c t or . The Board brought up the matter of vacation of second alley west of Sheridan street running from Laurel street to the first alley • running east and west. On motion of :,1r. Peitz this matter was continued to May 2d and the clerk was instructed to notify parties int ere sted The Clerk read a letter from the A . & C . Stone & Lime Co . , tidge- ville , Indiana, stating they would be able to furnish Brushed stone at any time . The Board took no acti on on this matter. 1.58 Thursday, April 25,1918 Mr. Davis brought up the matter of sewer in North 7th street claiming there was no manholes in this street at the Corner of 7th and Ca also at Ft. Viayne .Ave. & 7th St . Mr . Peitz moved. that- the city engineer have the street ,commissioner to put in these mamholes, seconded by r. Taylor, so ordered . The Clerk read a letter fracm the Cartinhour Bowman Co. in regard to Automobile equipment for the Street Department. Mr. Peitz moved that this be referred to the Clerk to answer this letter, seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered. Mrs. The Clerk was ordered to notify/Lew Minck to remove tree in front of property on West Side of South 4th Street. • Mr. Feltz moved that .e.rera•l.:o.fethe . stre,et menbe raised 25V on the day , seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered. Mr. Peitz moved that the Supt . of Light Plant and Supt. of Parks take up the matter of • turning lights on at Glen Park. • TheBoard ordered the Street Commissioner to repair Ft. Wayne , • Avenue between C. & D. street and North 12th from Main to A street. The Board instructed Mr. Dillon to get data on necessary equip- ment at Light plant and refer to the Board. TheBoard unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution 553-1918. providing for a 1R-"' sanitary Sewer -in the alley between N. West 2d and Hunt street from bew.er ir_,:::va.'cated.
