Present: Denise Rego, Director, Co-chairs Andrea Nevins and Sharon Tennstedt, Steve Holmes, Honey
Pivirotto (Fin Com Liaison), Annie Rapaport (COA Program Coordinator), Jay Green, Penny Holeman
Absent: Cindy Bingham (SB Liaison), Laura Usher
Meeting called to order and Governors' Orders read by Sharon Tennstedt at 1:00 pm
Documents and exhibits: Minutes of May 19, 2022, Meeting Agenda, Directors' Report, Action Plan
Implementation FY22, Memorandum on upcoming schedule and format for Town Committee meetings.
Minutes of May 19, 2022 were unanimously approved.
DIRECTORS' REPORT:
- See Report
Annie Rapaport was introduced as the new Program Coordinator
Debra Johnson and Brenda Locke have resigned as Outreach Coordinators
Janet Stoizer has resigned from the COA Board
The Board has asked Denise to set up a tour of the Cape Cod Sea Camps to help the Board in their
future planning for subjects such as the Health and Wellness Fair
Program Reports and Review
- See Action Plan Implementation
Walking Group to be starting in August. Anne will contact the Conservation Trust for the best trails
for Seniors
- Housing issues need to be discussed by the Board as the housing shortage is acute
- Need to find a person to teach Mah Jongg. Send names to Annie.
Send all ideas for other programs to Annie
Next five-year Action plan - Sharon will contact UMass group to prepare process for the next five year
Action Plan development
Committee Reports
Recreation Committee:
- The Recreation Committee has reorganized their Board
The two Scholastic Scholarship awards were approved
- All Summer Programs have been filled
The ballfields are being upgraded
- Vision Action Committee:
Vision Planning Committee Action Plans by Building Blocks will be ready for a Public Hearing in
September
- Grant Applications:
Jay will prepare a list of Foundations for June, July and August Grant submittals for the benches for
Freemans Way ballfields
