HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-04-1918 1 46 Office of the Board. of Public Works City of Richmond , Indiana Thursday,April 4,1918 The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regular session at the office of the said. Board, Thursday, April 4, 1918 at. 9:00 o' clock A.M. All of 'the members of said Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Peitz The following proceedings were had to-wit : - The minutes of previous meeting read ad were approved. The Clerk read the complaints from Council referred to tie Board. The Board referred these to the City Engineer aid. Street Commissioner. Mr. Peitz brought up the matter of "Mr. Johnson willing to use the lot at the end of Randolph street at 1st street for garden space. The Board decided to look into this matter and if this space is unoccupied the permission to use this lot will be given to Mr. Johnson. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose property is affected by the construction of cement roadway in the alley between South 21st and S.22d street , running from South A street, south about 145.45 feet , under improve.- ment resolution #547-1918 . A remonstrance filed not having the required number of remonstraters and the Board wishing to investigate further, Mr. Peitz moved. that this be taken under advisement , seconded by Mr. Taylor, so ordered.. Mr. Dillon, brought up the matter of changing the rules for reading meters. Mr. Peitz moved that the Supt . of Light Plant get permission from the State Public Service Commission to change rules of meter reading to continuous reading, seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered. Mr. Johnson moved that Su-pt . of Light Plant be instructed to contract with Vacuum Oil Co. for oil to use on turbines, seconded by Mr. Taylor, so ordered. TheBoard received bids for Storm Water Sewer on North f'th St. 'running from North A street to North D street under improve - ment resolution #549-1918 , as follows: - L.P.Merideth bid, 4161.00 per linear foot , • J. F. Hipskind bid , 5.99 per linear foot, Daniel G.Burkhardt,bid , 4::19 per linear foot. The bids being above, the City Engineer' s estimate, Mr. Peitz moved. that all bids be rejected and theClerk readvertise for bids for this sewer, seconded by Mr. `Taylor , so ordered.
