All of the members of the said Board being present , Messrs . Johnson, aTlor , and Peltz . The following proceedings were had to -wit : - The minutes of rrevious meeting read and were approved.. The Clerk presented the Complai nt s of Council referred to the Board. The Board referred the complaints on lights on South 5th and 10th street to the Superintendent of _Bight Plant and the comp,aints cn streets and sewers to the city Engineer and Street Commissioner and that the Board would co-operate with the Engineer arid Street Commissi oner. The clerk read a letter from the tii chac cal Conm any, sub- mitting pri ces on Coal for Fire Houses for the season of 1318 .. • The Board decided tc take th is under cons i.d eration. The Clem read a letter from the indi an aefining Co . stating they zould not furnish oil for the oiling of streets for 1918 . The Board ordered this placed on file . Mr. Siekman appeared befcre the Board in rer_ard to roll tng 12th street from South E street to North E street . The Board took this matter under advisement . ihurs day ,Mar oh2:1 ,1918 The Clerk read a letter from the leetor-_Hartley Motor Co. in regard to furnishing Cannon Stoves. This matter was referred to the Chief of the Fire Lepartment . Mr. Weidner pre sent ed a letter from the State Board of Account s in regard to ohortage of Cash Street Fund . Mr. Feltz moved reco that this -matter be refe A a.nd: m- mend to Council , seconded. byrred Mrto. the TaylorCity, so ttorney ordered. Mr. Si ekman appeared be ffre the Board in re gard tc dog s• running at large through the city and tearing up the lawns . He sug- gested that a dog catcher be an_oointed. After some discussion Mr . Peitz moved that this matter be referred to Council and an ordinance drawn up covering this matter, seconded by Mr. Taylor , .so ordered . _he Board received bids for the Stucco 'Nor on Greenhouses at Glen nark as follows : _ I agree to stucco Green Houses and furnish balance of material for the sum of Eighty Dollars ( y80.00) . By time , 60V per hour for plasterers , and. 42 V per hour for laborers . ( Signed ) J.C . Mullen. I do hereby agree to stucco Greenhouse at Glen Miller part, furnish all material and labor for the sum of Eighty--two Dollars . ( 82.00) . Price per hour , rlasterers , '722y',. laborers, 50V. The ^oard instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids for same . 1 •• Mr . Felts presented to the Board the request of Adam Bartel to tap the sewer at North 10th andE street. The Board referred this to the City Ln;ins er. - Mr. Johnson actked permission to tap sewer at his factory and. via instructed to take out permit for same . 1 38 Thursday , March 21 , 1918 Mr. Peitz brought up the que sti on of pur chasi rig. flags for the City Buildings, nose Houses and Lig'.it ilant . Mr. Johnson moved that the Board buy flags for the dif ferent buildings and charge to the respective department s, second ed by Mr. 72a7-1.or , so• ordered . The City Engi neer again presented ,esoluti on 548-119�!8 . for the improvernrnt of North A street and a norti on of North 2a street. The Board referred this improvement back to the petitioner , Mr. Niewoehner and Instructed him to have in- cluded North. 2d to Main Street . . George Bymaster appeared before the Board and asked per- mission to garden portion of city property on North -Jest 8th Street North of Main Street . The Board grant ed Mr. Bymaster this permi ssi on. Mayor :t. Zimmerman brought up the question of cleaning the basement of the city building and have it whit e--wa;.hed. The • Board inf ormed the Mayor they .had instructed the street Com- missioner. to have his men do this work whenever they were unable to work outisae. The Board instructed the Clerk to write the , tixdebaker -Com- pany in regard. to Fibre for Street ;weeper. Mr . Dillon informed the Board that he had givers -:ir. Holzapfel fi fteen days in which to 'i ve bond for pulling the piling out of well at the Old Light Plart , stati ng that Mr. Holzapfel had refused to nut up the bond for this purposed The BonNd instructed i.Tr. Davis to take up with the utility man the • question of Pullin this piling. . Davis asked the Board in regard to bu-ying a sewer cleaner to clean the sewers without digging them up . Mr. Belts moved that the clerk be instructed to L..dvertise for bids fcr a suwer cleaner, as to the City n-gineer ' s spe.ci fi cations , seconded by =Lr, Taylor , so ordered .
