All of the members of said Board being present, Messrs. Johnson, I-aylor and Pelts . The following proceedings •were had 'to -wi t : - • • The minutes of previous meeting read and were 'approved. The Clerk presented a complaint of the bad condition of the first alley south of hichmond Avenue between. 4th and 5th St- • Mr. . Pelts moved that this be referred to City Engineer and Street Commissioner , seconded by Mr. Taylor ,✓ so ordered. . • The Board uriamimously adoptd improvement resolution—no . -549-1918 for Stara Water Sewer on North 7th •)t. running from North "A" Street to North "D"Street . Mr. Pelts moved that this resolution be presented to Council for their approval , - seconded, by Mr. Taylor , so ::ordered. Mr . Davis brought up the matter of' improving: North West Seventh Street . He stated that the cost bf'-the improvement is more than the rroperty is assessed . After some discus- sion the Board referred this matter back to -v.zr. Davis. M, r . Davis again brought up the matter of widening' North 3d Street and stated that i f the street was widened i t would b e an easy matter to have this street paved. ,After some dis- cussion "`r. After some discussi on Mr. Johnson moved • that the City Engineer be instructed to purchase material and coat the -oresent ' floor of said bri dge , seconded by --r. relt'z, so ordered. Mr. Peitz brought up the question of oiling streets. After some disdussi on I.ir . leltz moved that when a petiti on is pre- sented for oiling, a check_ for the amount of the cost of oil.-iri " shall accompany petition, as figured by the City Engineer, s'ec- onded by Mt. Taylor , so ordered. Mr. Pelts brought up the questi on of ', ebb-Coleman Co . repairing Automobiles in. the alley between South 7th and 8th Street be- tween Main and South A street , stati n, that the alley is always congested by machines . The Board referred this to the folic e Department to notify Webb-Coleman Co. to keep the alley open. Mr . N. Ogden; C .E. , made to the '-ommcrical Club , 1918. After some - discussion the Board agreed to meet with the South Side -improvement Association and the .,omnmerical - Club at the Arlington Hotel , Wednesday at 12 :00 o clock M to take this matter up further. Mrs . iiinne r appeared before the Board in regard to using lot at South 5th and "GTT street for garden purposes . On motion the Board T-ranted.' Mrs. 1-inner this privilege . • A representative of the .teinheimer. �;uarries Co. appeared before the Board in regL- rd. to signing Contract for ceushod Stone for the year of 19 18 . The Board' referred this matter to the City Engineer and the City Attorney. Mr . Peitz moved that Council be asked for an appropriation of 1000. O0 for the purchase of Coal for City Buildings for 1918 and paying the . balance on last years' bills , seconded b7 Mr. • Taylor, so ordered. Mr. Johnson moved that the Board be authorized to buy coal throughthe Light Plant , seconded by iir.
