The Board of Public ','forks of the City of itichmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Thurs- day February 14, 1918 , at 9 : 00 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board being present . Messrs. Johnson, Taylor and Feltz. The following proceedings were had to-wit : The minuets of the previous meeting read and on motion of Mr. Taylor were approved . The Clerk presented a letter from the i,ichmond Water -works Company, in regards to City Flush Tank with galvanized service , stating that the City would probably want to exchange , c.nd replace with lead service . This matter was refered to the City Engineer. His Honor, W. W. Zi• merman made a few remarks in regards to the furnishing of light to the"Home Militar:yT Guards . ' Mr. Taylor moved that the City furnish light for the"Home Military Guards" and that the Captain of such Guards take • up the matter. as to how many and location of lights, with the Cuperintendent of light Plant . seconded by Mr. Peitz , so ordered. The Board was ask to investigate as to the hedge around the tool-house , located on the west side of the river. (cont ' d. on next page ) 115 Thursday 'ebruary 14 , 1918. r . Feltz reported the bad condition of the rest House , saying that the foof leaked , pump was in bad condition, and that the walks and the doors were in need of repair. This matter was refered to the Building Inspector. Mr. Peltz also spoke of the street sweeper , reporting that it was badly in need of rer,airs .'' This was refered to the Street Commissioner. ::`r. Henry Hi chard s ' name was mentioned in regards to em- ployment with the City. His name was taken and turned over to the Street Commissioner. • Mr . Taylor brought up the request of Mr . Price , for a light at the conjunction of Gaar aoad and New Paris The Board stated that they would investi .ate this matter. Mr. Davis presented two plans for the construction of the Green House at, Glen Miller Park. After some discussion the Board chose plan number(1 ) one . Mr. Pinnick ask in regards to buying the material from the lumber companies , for the Green House . The Board instructed him to get prices from both companies. Mr. Hollarn stated that he would receive estimates for the boiler and Mass for Green House. Lir. Miller gave a few remarks on the different hose of the several 'Sire hose companies . The Board received bids for 550 feet , 2.' inch cotton rubber lined fire hose , as follows , to-wit : Empire Mutter & Tire Company bid : Empire Best , Underwriters , Double Jacketed 41.15 rer ft . Upon the advice of the Fire Chief, the contracts were awarded as follows : To the Boston Woven Hose and k,ubber Company, 300 feet of Boston .ipecial , i;ouble Jacketed at 01.00 per foot . The hose offered under this prorosal is guaranteed to withstand a test pressure of 400 rounds , and against defects in material or manufacture for thirty-six months from date of delivery. To the I:anhattan :,ubber ilnfg. Company, 250 feet of Condor, Double Jacketed, at s . 95 rer foot . The hose offered is guaranteed to withstand a test pressure of 4C0 rounds , and to be free from defects in material or.,:_manufactur. e for thirty- six months from dateof delivery.
