HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-07-1918 1 1 0 Monday February 4 , 1918 . • The Board approved contract and bond signed by Joseph Kuppen as principal and "The United : tates Fidelity & Guarantee ComTany"as surety, in the matter of installing a Gasoline , Oil and Air Dispencer, in front of his place of business at eleventh and Main streets. ( see contract and bond ) . • Mr . Peitz remarked on the heating system of the City Hall , stating that the boiler was consumilng7 more .coal than it shculd and advised that a new heating system be installed . II No action was taken on this matter, , The Board then adjourned. The Board of Public Works of the City. of tichmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office o-`' the said Board, Thurs- day February 7, 1918 at 10:-30 o ' clock A. L . All the members of the said Board being present , Lessrs.. Johnson, Taylor , and Feltz . The following proceedings were had to-wit : The minutes of the previous meeting approved without reading. The Board reviewed Claim Bills against the City for the amount of 5774.12 and on motion the bills were allowed. • 'B . Ao Fescher, Cit7 Controller reported that the ground the City came into possession of, by ,the opening of South G street for the bridge , was delinquent for taxes. Mr. ,Feltz moved that -the Controller ray the delinquent taxes on on the ground owned by the City, at. the site of south G street . ,peconded by ._r . Taylor , so ordered. r. Feltz moved that the :_,um of Two Hundred and forty-nine • ( 249 .00 ) Dollars be received and accepted by the City of Richmond , from Dr. W. G. f, uf"fman in payment and reimbursementIlL to r-laidi City of the following specific items of fees illegaly charged to and collected from said city by said Dr. ,ni. G. Huffman,repre- sents that he actually made said trips respocti_velyi to L. A. Hiatt and Walter Alexander and reimbursement is made by him as to them because they are financialy able to pay for said services and legally liable therefor themsel-ves. It being further understood that said payment is to be made as reimbursement for the specific alleged trips and items only above set out which said Dr. Huffman states and admits he illegaly charged and collected from said City and that said payment is not received in compromise or . settlement in full of claims of said City against said Dr. W. G. Huffman as such City Physician whether for alleged services to said families or persons or otherwise , and that said City re- serves the right to collect all remaining overcharges or fees illegaly received by said Huffman which may be ascertained. Seconded by .iir. Taylor, so ordered. The Board approved and allov'ed various pay-rolls up to and including January 31 , 1918. • The Board then adjourned.
