The Board. of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana Met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Monday February 4 , 1918 at 9 ;00 o' clock A. M. All the mem- bers of said Board being present . Messrs . Johnson, Taylor, and Peltz . The following proceedings were had to wit ; The minutes of the previous meeting read and on motion of ::r . Peltz were approved. • It was moved by Mr . Peitz , seconded by Mr. Taylor that the arch lights at 7th. & north A streets , and 9th. & north A streets be removed, also that alight be placed under the west arch of the new main street bridge . 6o ordered. On moti on by Mr . Peitz and seconded by Mr. Taylor the Board ordered the City Engineer to raise the salary of Mr. Ridgeway ' from .;s75 .00 to .s85.00 per month , begining, February 1 , 1918. So ordered. The Board unamimously adopted improvement resolution No . 544- 1918 , for the construction of a cement roadway in the alley betweeh north 15th. & 16th . streets from north A street to. north B street . Mr. Johnson 'Drought forth the question in regards to small- . pox cases grocery,-bills being paid for by the city, after some discussion it was concluded that all charity cases should be cared for by the Township Trustee . This matter was refered to the City Attorney. Er. Davis rrese_ ted plans for Inlet Catchbasin and on motion by Mr. Taylor and seconded by Mr . Feltz that this plan be adopted it was so ordered . Mr . Davis placed before the Board a plat for the land around the site of the :.)outh G street brid:,'e . Yr. Feltz moved that paid plat be adopted , seconded by Mr . Taylor, sc ordered. Mr. Davis then rrsented plans for a coal conveyor for the light plant , stating that he had written to several con- cerns and that there would be construction engineers appear before the Board , after locking the situation over . This 1/ . matter was left for future action. ( cont ' d. on next page ) 1 1 0 Monday }February 4 , 1918 . • The Board approved contract and bond signed by Joseph vurpen as -principal and "The United :;testes Fidelity & Guarantee ComTany"as surety, in the matter of installing a Gasoline , Oil and Air Dispencer, in _front of his place of business at eleventh and Main streets. ( see contract and bond ) . l . Li- . Feltz remarked on the heating system of the City Hall , stating that the boiler was consuming more .coal than it should and advised that a new heating system be installed. ' I/ No action was taken on this matter, , The Board then adjourned. The Board of Public Works of the City. of i;ichmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Thurs- day February 7 , 1918 at10: 30 o ' clock A. M. All the members of the said Board being present , Lessrs. Johnson, Taylor , and Peitz . The following proceedings were had to-wit : The minutes of the previous meeting approved without' reading. The Board reviewed Claim Bills against the City for the amount of 5774.12 and on motion the bills were allowed. 'B. A, Belcher, Cit7 Controller rerorted that the ground the City came into possession of, by .the opening of South G street for the bridge , was delinquent for taxes. Mr. ,Feltz moved that .the Controller ray the delinquent taxes on on the ground owned by the City, at the site of South G street . :seconded by :._r . Taylor , so ordered. Mr. Peltz moved that the slum of Two Hundred and forty-nine • ( 249 .00 ) 'Dollars be received and accerted by. the City of i'ichmond, from Dr. W. G. JVuffman in payment and reimbursementI/L to said City of the following specific items of fees illegaly charged to and collected from said city by said Dr. W. G.
