The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regular session at the' office of the said Board, Mon- day, January 28th. 1918 . at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. All the mem- bers of the said Board being present . Messrs. Johnsn, Taylor and Peltz . The following proceedings were 'had to wit : - The minuets of the previous meeting. read and :on motion of Mr. Feltz , were approved. Superintendent of Police .Dep_ artment , - Mr. Gorman, ask for in- formation as to what places were to be opened to-day and what places were to be closed to-morrow. Mr. Gorman- was instructed to act in accordance with the proclamation issued by Mr. F. S. Bates , Fuel Administrator , and published in the -Richmond Item. Motion by Mr . Peitz , seconded by Mr. Taylor that the "Ordin- ance for the collection of garbage" be printed so that the Street Commissioner would have them to hand out to the differ- • ent parties who violate ' said ordinance . So ordered . The Board Rave The American Telephone and Telegraph Company permission to trim trees along their lines ,utider the super- vision of Mr. Jack Chowning. ( cont ' d. on next page ) 1 Oa Monday, January 28 , 1918 . • Mr. Johnson suggested that the Bcard of Public 'works and the Superintendent of the Light Plant get together and see what equipment will be needed at the Municipal Electic Light & Power Plant , as it will take approximately two years to receive such equipment. Mr. Miller stated that the Fire Department was short of fire hose , as he had given about 550 feet to the street department . Mr. Feltz suggested that it be. taken up with City attorney and Common Council asked for appropriation. The City Engineer presented the petition, refered to him, for a cement roadway in alleys between South 2nd. street and South • 3d . street , from South A. street north tc the 1st . alley south • of Main street ; thence -east to South 3d. street and west to South 2nd. street , aid stated that it would cost the city ap- proximately seventy five ( 75.00) dollars. • Mr . Johns ' n moved that the petition be refered to the Engineer- ing Department for plans, etc . Seconded by Mr. Taylor , so ordered. The City Engineer brought up the matter of tapping into sewers when improvements are made. On motion of Mr. Feltz , the City Engineer was instructed to act racording to the ordinance on "Tapping Sewers" . Seconded by Mr . Taylor, so ordered. Mr. Feltz suggested that the street flusher be looked over and placed in working order. Also that the matter of fixing the broken wheel on the street roller be investigated. The Board decided to investigate. On motion by Mr . Johnson and seconded by Mr. Pelts. Mr. Finnic,_ and Mr. Davis were ordered to see a-tout making a snow spreader , the width and weight left to their own best judge- Ment . Sc ordered . On motion the Board accepted the resination of Albert H. Bond , pipeman of number three hose house , and appointed Mr. James P .
