Monday December 17th ,1917 . •
The Board of Public Works of the City of 'Richmond , Indiana,
met in regular s e s si on at the office of said Board , Monday
December 17th , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All . the membe rs of
said Board being pre sent.,, Messrs , Bavis , Marlatt and McMinn.
The following-pro c.eedipgs were had , to-wit : - •
The Board on motion of Mr. McMinn', directed the Finance Depart -
ment to pay to John F. Hipskind , contractor under Improvement
Hesolutim No . 521 -1916 . the 5% in the sum of 4220 .44 , retained .
under said contract , provided the said John F. Hip skind ,
furnishes a suitable maintenance bond for the unexpired period
of sa id re serve .
The ma tte r of the City , pa yi ng for board , nurse and guard in
quarantine at the Pest House , of A. Hirsh , prisoner from the _
,County Jail , was referred to the City Attorney , for investi-
gation and report .
The City Attorney , Wm. A. Bond , pre sented to the Board a letter
dated July 6th , 1917 , which he received from Henry C. Starr ,
- attorney for Richmond City Water Works , relating to a claim
of said datercWorks against the city . The Board does not re--
gard this claim just or equitable and , therefore , declines to
consider the same . These matters are a long stsndina and in
the opinion of the Board would have been pre ssed._ long ago by
the Wat er Works Co . , if. the same had possessed any merit .
The Sup' t . , of M. F. L. 8. P. P. was—directed to render bill to
the 6tarr Piano Company, in the amount of ,42. 32 , and request
payment immediately •
