The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, .
met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday
August 20th , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. The foil owing members
of said Board being present., Messrs, Marlatt and McMinn,
- Absent , Mr. Bevis , Two members being present , the following
proceedings were had , to-wit
A petition was presented signed by A. W. Gregg, et -al , pray
ing for light in alley between North 8th & 9th and between
North "C" &_ "D" Streets , petitioners to install the same &
furnish the lights , the city to furnish the current free,
on motion the request was granted.
A petition was presented signed by 123 residents of west side
praying that the Board . construct a board walk on north side
of National Road leading from C . & 0. Bridge to temporary
bridge across the river, the- same was referred to City
Engineer to investigate and report as to necessity and prob-
able cost _of same. _
In view of the fact that the Richmond Commercial Club, is
getting options on ground on what is known as Newmans Hill
and are desirous of 'taking options on that pa rt b of. grounds
owned by City, for factory purposes , the Board on motion
instruct the Clerk to prepare an ordinance asking the Judge
of the Wayne Circuit Court to appoint .3 disinterested ap-
praisers to. appraise .said ground with a view to selling the
same to said club ,. as the Board do not want to stand in the
_ way of factories desiring to locate in this City, .and order
said ordinance presented to the Common Council
The Board atproved the various pay-rolls to August 15th ,1.917 .

Claims to 'the amount of 43718 .36 were allowed & ordered paid .
