At 7.01 p.m. Mayor Latta opened the Public Hearing.
Roll call was taken, D. Gullicksen was absent but he arrived at
7:08 p.m., all members were present.
Planner Waldock spoke in reference to Case Na. 373-111892AA.
A licant - Material Service Corporation. Location - Along both
sides of Essington Road between 135th Street and Illinois Route
126. Request - Annexation Agreement and Establishment of Residence
A-4 Multi-Family Zoning. The Village of Plainfield has requested
that Material Service Corporation consider Annexation of a forty-
three (43) acre site located along both sides of Essington Road
(224th) between Illinois 126 and 135th Street. The purpose for
this request was to achieve contiguity between the Lakelands
Annexation area and the TOPE Corporation Annexation site. The
subject site in this case is the link between the two (2)
annexation areas. The Village is currently considering an
Annexation Agreement Amendment to the Lakelands project to
annexation of Phases II and III which will extend the Village
boundaries to 224th Street (also known as) Essington Road on their
east border. The subject site in the Material Service case is
contiguous to the Lakelands property as well as the TOPE property
along Route 126. Material Service is cooperating with the Village
with regard to annexing to the Village. This annexation would give
the Village contiguity to the TOPE property. The agreement calls
for a five (5) acre section to be Zoned B_4 Highway Business
District at the intersection of Essington and Route 126. The
balance of the property would be Zoned A-4 Multi-family,
approximately forty--four (44) units. Material Service has
requested to hold a second Public Hearing (late April), they would
like to update their legal description. Administrator Van Vooren
stated we are still working with Material Service in reference to
Essington Road, (which runs through their property). They have
expressed concern of the bridge over Lily Cache Creek that would
connect the TOPE property to Essington Road and Material Service
property.
W. Sharp moved to adjourn the Public Hearing. Seconded by M.
Lambert. Voice vote. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
