. Thursday June 14th,1917.
The Board. of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session"at the office of said Board Thursday
:June '14th, 1917 , at 9' o'clock A. M.' The following members of
said Board being present,, Messrs , Bavis. and Marlatt, Absent
Mr. McMinn. Two- members .of said Board being present. The fol-
lowing proceedings were had , to-wit :-
A communication signed by Willard. B. .Dye and Benjamin F. Harris,
filed on June 11th , 1917 , was read asking that their names be
withdrawn from petition signed by them for .the construction of
sewer under Resolution No. 535-1917. Upon the advice of the
City Attorney, stating they could not. withdraw their names at ,
this time , the same was ordered placed on file .
A petition signed by Louis Minck & Wm. H. Peterson, for the
vacating of the 1st alley south of South "A" Street , from South
4th to 5th Street , was received and taken under advisement .
The Board enter into contract with I. E. Smith, to construct the
sewer in place of the open drain north of Main Street bridge , from
present outlet to 'river under Improvement Resolution No. 543-1917 .
as follows, to-wit :-'
Will bid 4 ft. sewer, using 2" transverse rods , 8' long, spaced
12" , and 62" longitudinal rods, spaced as directed by the Engineer
.over the upper part of the circle ; concrete walls to be 6" thick ; --
for the sum of 43.50 per linear foot ; Concrete retaining wall,
at . the end of the sewer, $9.00 per yard.
The Board directed copies of rules & regulations as revised by
the Sup't of M. E. L. & P. P. filed with the Public Service Com-
mission of Indiana.
Complaints were received of condition of South "A" Street between
4th & 5th St ; also North 3rd Street , between "A" & "C" Street;
Also South "G" Street , between 6th & 7th. Street, the Board agrees
to look after the same , and if possible to fill up holes.
The Board purchased from Chas. Peterson, for the sum of $25.00,
lot on west side of river, across from City Light Plant .
The Board then adjourned,
