The .Board of. Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indi ana
met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday
May 3rd , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said.
Board being present , Messrs , Bavis , Marlatt and McMinn. •
The fo flowing pro ce edings were had , to-wit : -
.The Board approved the contract . and bond. of Chas. Z. Runge &
Thos . Chapman , doing business under the name & style of the
"Hub Garage " 18 South 7th Street\, to install Gasoline Dispen-
ser etc. , at ab ove number.
- A petiti on was presented by the Dille & McGuire Mfg. co. , for
Fire hydrant on north side of railroad & North 13th Street ,
referred to Fire Chief for investigation.
The Board approved schedule of wages & hours for employees at
M.E.1.&P. P. Power plant , increasing the hours from 8 to 9 hours
and 20 minutes , and increasing pay from 07. 50 to $10.00 per
month. (See schedule )
The Board ratified action taken on May 1st, in regards to.
Parking of auto ` s in Glen Miller Park, just east of Arch en-
trance , as requested by the Richmond Exhibiti on Co. , the Board
does, not fav or parking at this place , but offer the use of
what is known as Rosevelt Field for parking purposes.
- The Board again decides not to construct sidewalk on east side
NW.7th Street , from Pearl Street north , until something is
done regarding condi ti on of street . -
The Board received bids for the improvement of the alley be -
tween South 9th & 10th Street , by constructing a cement road-
way from South "F" to "G" Street, under Improvement Resoluti on
No. 536-1 917 , as follows to -wit : -
" Schneider Bros . , bid;
Cement roadway complete $0.12 7/8V per sq-ft
" Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ;
Cement roadway complete 00.16 per sq-ft .
The bid of Schneider Bros , being the lowest & within the
estimate of the City civil Engineer, contract was so awarded.
The Board received bids for the construction of cement side-
walk on north side of North "D" Street , from Ft-Wayne Ave , to
North 8th Street , under Improvement Resoluti on No. 538-1917I
as follows to -wit : -
" Schneider Bros. , bid ;
Cement walk complete $0.121 per sq-foot .
D Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ;
Cement walk complete $0.161 per sq-foot .
The bid. of Schneider Bros, being the lowest & within the
estimate of the City Civil Engineer, contract was so awarded.
