Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present George Gubbins explained that under the law, when the election is contested, the encumbent may continue serving until the contest is finalized and'herrecommended that Raymond Bosch serve as councilman until this matter is finally decided. ' The minutes of the regular meeting of December 1, 1970 read. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Moved by Thomas Stevens that we issue aion-sale beer license for two days to the Plymouth Lions Club, after proper application is filed with the Clerk. Seconded by Raymond Bosch Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that we pay the two police officers for the seven hours which they spent at the bomb school. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Talked over the matter of a new stove. Bill Rudolph is to find out what they will offer on the trade-in on the old stove. Moved by Arthur Theis to issue cigarette license for 1971 to the following: Harold and Dwaine's, Inc.; Rolling Green Country Club; Mi.Kay's Bottle Shoppe; Beverly Pettit of the "55 Club"; Medina Recreations, Inc.; and Schmid Grocery. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis to appoint Donald Des Lauriers as acting mayor. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to appoint the Farmers State Bank of Hamel as official depository. No second - Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to appoint the State Bank of Loretto as offical depository. Mr. Hay from the Metropolitan Sewer Board explained the matter of the take over of the sewer ponding area. Moved by Thomas Stevensto have a special meeting with regard to the sewer ponding take over on January 13, 1971 at 7 P. M. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved•by, Arthur Theis to grant the Boyer LandFill a license for the kear 1971. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Discussion with regard to the lost pump. George Gubbins to investigate the r matter furthur. 23 A letter from the City of Crystal regarding homestead classification. Moved by Raymond Bosch for the adoption of the Resolution opposed to the elimination of the homestead classifiaat on of the State of Minnesota property tax statutes. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried: Wayne Neddermeyer, yes; Donald Des Lauriers, yes; Thomas Stevens, yes; Arthur Theis, yes; and Raymond Bosch, yes. A report from the Department of Health with regard to the Medina-Morningside water supply was read. A letter from the Hennepin County Department of Public Works stating that the speed limits posted on #116 have been retained by the State Highway was read. A letter from Paul Gubrud advising that he is leaving Ehlers and Associates, Ind. was read. A letter and map with regard to the Loretto ponding area was submitted. A notice of the hearing with regard to consolidation of Minetrist and Mound read. Looked over the Metropolitan Sewer Board Batt Levies. Checked over the letter from Attorney General Head with regard to Snowmobile ordinances. Read copy of letter which William Mills wrote to the firm of attorneys, Moore, Costello and Hart with regard to Minn -Kota - final payment. Notice of Conference for newly elected mayors and councilmen to be held January 16, 1971 was read. Announcement of Hennepin County League of Municipalities meeting January • 14, 1971 was made. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount of $3,562.07 and order checks in the amount of $7,744.78. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Moved by Thomas Stevens to increase Willis Kohnen,s salary as assessor to $2750.00. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Thomas Stevens that the meeting adjourn.
