Thursday Mar ch 15th , 1917 .
The Board. of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indi ana, ,
• met in regu;ar session at the office of said Board Thurs-
day March 15th , 1917 , at 9 otclock A. ,M. All . the members
of said Board being • pre sent , M , Bavis , Marlatt and
McMinn. The following proceedings were had ; to-wit : -
The Board received letter from Mayor Robbins , endorsing
the establishment of public playgrounds in Glen Miller
Park, if the ci ty has the funds available for that pur-
pose.
The Controller , ateported the amount of 6'276 . 75 , delin •
-
quent on rental of Market stalls , on motion the Control-
' ler was directed to send bi lls to rentors in an endeavor
to collect the same .
The Clerk reported, that Dr. Bramkamp, had fi led complai at
that the Richmond Light , Heat & Power Co. , had not as yet
extended their pipes in South 9th Street , south of South
"H" Street , as ordered by the Board .
In matter of granting permission to Levi Peacock et-al to
erect gravel wash Brand to store gray el on gro and belong- •
ing to the City back of Light Plant , the Board directed
the Clerk to submit the following to said Peacock and his
attorneys :
• That no consideration be given to the cone es-
sion that is not condi ti oned upon a satisfactory assurance
that future action in the Evans case be wi thdrawn .
We feel-that the privilege granted is tantamount to
supplying land for the purpose o f extracting gravel and
the ci ty has a right to such data as will give us an intel-
ligent idea of what we may expect as royalti es for that
privilege .
The delete ri ous influences to the operation of the
Condenser resultant to the stirring up a sendiment should •
have a bearing on the royalty to be paid the City . •
Any concession should be condi ti oned upon acceptance •
by both parties , of a contract specifically safeguarding
the City to be drawn up by the City. Attorney.
