Tuesday March 13th ,1917.
_The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Tuesday March
• 13th , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. 1E. All the members of said Board
being present , Messrs , Bavis9 Marlatt and McMinn. The follow-
ing proceedings were had , to-wit: -
The Board received communication from Richmond City Water Works ,
advising th em • of a shortage of revenue on the bas sis of 10q' per
lin-ft . in the matter of extensi on of water main in North "F"
from 10th to 12th Street and 13th to 15th Street , to the amount
of _4,2 . 59 . The Board ordered extensi on laid from 10th to 12th
and from 13th to 15th Street , the ci ty to take one fi re hydrant
to be placed between 10th & 11th Street , in order to cover this
shortage .
The Board received communicati on from E. M. Carnpfield , in matter
of light system on South 7th Street at Colonial Building, that he
was ready to re-construct his installati on to cover the ci ty' s
spe ci flea ti one, same was referred to Sup' t. light plants wi th in-
structions as soon as this is done , to connect it wi th the ci ty' s
system.
The Clerk reported the adopti on of resolution by council au thor-
i zing the sale of Police touring car , and appointment of apprais-
ers to appraise the same ; also rep ort of appraisers , F. M. Jones,
Fred Bethard & Horace Grim, fixi ng the valuate on at $150 .00.
In muter of play-grounds at S. 2nd & "B" Sts , referred to Board
of Health , the same was returned .wi th the informati on, the Board
had no appropriation to take care of play-grounds .
The Clerk was directed to order one copy of Fire Protection sent
to each of the 5 hose houses in the ci ty , al so to order one copy
of Fire & Wat er magazine, to be sent to No. 2 Fire Co. ,
The mat ter of constructing sewer out-let at old Corn Mill on North
12th St , was referred to Engineer.
In the matter of vacating a part of Glen Ave , and widening alley
between Lots 16 & 15 P.V. Washburns Add. The Clerk was directed to
notify Messrs , D.O.Hodgin & J.C. Trump . the request wi ll.not be
granted.
The Board go on record as fa vo ri ng the oiling of st reets the same
as last year , money to be deposited before said oiling is done.
The Board a -ree, wi th I,. C.i eacock , to place the gravel on Peacock
Road from 5th St , to corporation line , Peacock agreeing to furn-
ish the gravel free. -
