HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-08-1917 Office of Board of Public Works , 21 City of Richmond , Indiana , Thursday March 8th ,1917. • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday March 8th , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. An the members o f said Board being present , Messrs Bavis and McMinn, Absent , Mr. Iiarlatt, two members of said Board being present , the fol- lo«%i ng pro ceedings were had , to-wit : - A report on lighting system of E. M. Campfield , on South 7th Street , was received and Clerk directed to notify Mr. C amp field to have the system changed according to speci fi cations of the City embodied in the report ,before the same will be connected wi th the ci ty' s system. The report of the condition of City Jail, with the recommendations from speci al committee of couneil , was received and referred to City Engineer and Building Inspector, with the sugge std.on they receive esti mates on necessary repairs , new heating system and tearing- dovn and rebuilding the jail. The Rat ter of playgrounds offered by the Starr Piano Company referred to City Attorney, upon the recommendations of the City Attorney, the same was referred to Board of .Public Health and Charities.. • The Clerk , was directed to notify the P.C.C.& St L.Ry. Co'. , to remedy its street crossings at lEth St , to clean up debris at 12th St, north side of track, also to clean mud from sidewalk abutti ng their property on Center Street . The Clerk was directed to . notify Richmond City Water Works , to extend its water mains in North "P"t:Street , from 10th to 15th Street , the City to as same the deficit in revenue , based upon • the rulings of the Public gervice Commission of Indiana. The' Board received bids for the improvement of North "F" Street from North 10th to 15th Street , by paving withone o f the kinds of modern ci ty pavements , to-wit : - Asphalt -Brick-Concrete or Creosoted Wood Block, together with the necessary curb & gutter where not already provided wi th a standard pavement and curb tin good condi ti on, under Improvement Resolution No. 527-1917 , as follows to -wit : - " The Andrews Asphalt Paving C o. , bid : Trinidad Asphalt , 1" binder 1 " .top - - 42.09 sc-yrd. On moti on of Mr. McMinn, the Board now enters its pre- liminary order, designating that said North "F" Street , be improved by paving the roadway with Brick, in accordance wi th the plans . & specifications.
