City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday March 5th , 1917.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular sessi on at the office of said Board Monday
March 5th , 1917 , at 9 o'clock A. M. All the members of
said Board being present Messrs , Bavis , Marlatt & McMinn.
The following proceedings were had , to-wit: -
A letter from Richmond City Water Works, enclosing a list
of hydrants , was received and on motion referred to Chief-
Fire Department , E. E. Miller.
A communication was received from Swayne , Robinson & Co . ,
notifying the City of an increase in price of castings
from $3. 36 z to ; 4.19 per hundred.
A communication was received -from Starr Piano Co. , in re-
gard to gro and owned by them, at South 2nd & "B" Sts ,
offering the same to the City for play-ground purposes ,
which was referred to City Attorney.

A communication was received from E. M. campfield , for
'permission to connect ornamental lights at Colonial Build-
ing on South 7th Street , to the city' s system of lights ,
on motion the tea tter was referred to Sup' t . , of Light
Plant , as to changes necessary in Mr. Campfields present
system , before the same can be connected with the City' s
system.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resoluti on No.
534-1917 , for the construction of cement roadway in the
1st alley south of South "A" Street , from South 4th to
5th Street .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.
535-1917, for the construction of• sewer in .the alley be-
tween Ross & Boyer Street , from Vine to John Street , and
as all interested property owners had signed an agreement
waiving their right to remonstrate against said improve-
ment and agreeing tompay the assessment therefor when due, •
-the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for same .
The matter of cleaning the Lake at Glen Miller Park, was
taken under advi sement for investigati. on.
• Claims to the amount of $14, 702 .24 was allowed & ordered
paid .
The Board then adjourned, •
