Monday February 26th, 1917.
The Board of. Public Works of the City of siichmond , Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board on
Monday February 26th , 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the
members of said Board being present , Messrs , Bavis , Mar-
la t t and McMinn. The following proceedings were had , to-
WitA petiti on was presented for the improvement of the first
alley south .of South "A" Street, by constructing a cement
roadway from South 4th to 5th Street , referred to City •
Engineer for plans etc . .
The City Civil Engineer , reported the completion of con-
tract under Improvement Resolution No. 511-1916 , for the
construction of a lighting .system on Main Street , from
3rd to 12th St , on North 7th Street from Main to North "A"
Street , on 8th Street from South "A" to North "A" Street ,
on south side of North "A" Street , from North 8th to 9th
Street , wi th the exception of painting the posts and re-
laying the gutters , And as this cannot be done to advant-
age during .this weather, and recommended that it be de-
ferred unti 1 suitable weather , and that 20%0 of the contract
12 ,866.00, be retained until this work is done ,and the
remainder of the work be accepted, on motion the report
was accepted, and assessment roll' for said improvement •
ordered.
The Clerk was directed not to advertise for paving of
South "A" Street from end , to 5th Street , at this time .
The Clerk was directed to notify Sup' t. , of P. C. C. & St.
Ir. Ry. Co. ,of complaints filed in matter of inebriates
from their constructs on gang visiting in Glen Miller Park,
and requesting them to co-operate with the City to stop
the practice of intoxicated employees loitering in the
park, and to serve notice on said construction gang, or
by supplying a man to see that no further infringements •
are allowed.
The Board directed the Sup' t. , of Light Plant to order 10
new Arc Lamps . the same as now in use.
The Board then adjourned,
