BENNETT - POLICE CHIEF At 7:00 p.m. Mayor Latta opened the meeting. Rall call was taken, all members were present. L. Kelly moved ti Regular Meeting 1989 - March 27, Meeting -- April April 19, 1989, 1989. Seconded carried. ~ approve the minutes of the following meetings: - March 20, 1989, Continued Meeting of March 20, 1989, Public Hearing - April 17, 1989, Regular 17, 1989, Continued Meeting of Apacil 17, 1989 - Continued Meeting of April 17, 1989 - April 24, by D. Lewin. Voice vote. 6 yes, 0 no. .Motion W. Sharp moved to accept the resignation of Dispatcher Patti Vanderlei effective May 16, 1989. Seconded by D. Gullicksen. Voice vote. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. W. Sharp moved to appoint three Andru Vanderlei, Lisa Hoffman salary of $25,428.00 or $12.23 Seconded by D. Lewin. Vote Kelly, yes; Lewin, yes; Sharp, yes, 0 no. Motion carried. (3) Police Officers to Corporal: and Donald Draksler for an annual per hour, effective May 22, 1989. by roll call. Gullicksen, yes; yes; Dement, yes; Gaylord, yes. 5 Mayor Latta presented the new Corporals with their badges. Chief Bennett spoke in reference to the Parking Committee recommendations. There was some discussion on the parking in Illinois Street Parking Lot by the library and the apartments in the area. There was also some discussion on the angle parking on Lockport Street (Downtown area) and that IDOT is requesting the Village go to parallel parking. J. Dement stated the Parking Committee is looking into more parking locations for customers, renters and workers. W. Sharp stated he is apposed to 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. two--hour parking downtown (business district), it is not necessary (ref. Dement moved to adapt Ordinance No. 1253 Making Comprehensive Additions To The Code Of Ordinances, Village Of Plainfield, Illinois contingent upon Section 5-172-(B) changed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (changed to) 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Seconded by W. Sharp. Vote by roll call. Gullicksen, yes; Kelly, yes; Lewin, yes; Sharp, yes; Dement, yes; Gaylord, yes. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. J. Dement moved to adopt Resolution No. 938 Establishing Fines For Parking Violations. Seconded by J. Gaylord. Vote by roll call. Gullicksen, yes; Kelly, yes; Lewin, yes; Sharp, yes; Dement, yes; Gaylord, yes. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. There was much discussion of parking on Main Street in the area of some apartments where there are curbs. It was agreed the Chief would look into this problem. Planner Waldock stated in reference to the BOCA Ordinance. He recommended it be tabled, due to minor changes, until June 5, 1989 meeting. This ordinance will establish our building and zoning code of ordinances. Our inspectors have had input into this ordinance. W. Sharp moved to adjourn. Seconded by J. Dement. Voice vote. 6 yes, 0 no.
