The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond.., Indi ana, met in regular session Friday February 23rd. , 191? , at 9 o° clock A. M. All the members of said Boa.zd being pre sent , Messrs , Bavis , Mar lat t and McMinn.. The following pro ce ed ings were had , to-wit : - The Board di reeled Mr. McMinn, to have Chas. Arr ow-smith remove the old gas post at corner of Main & South 9th Street. The Board directed the Clerk to notify Sup' t . , of Light Plant to remove the poles if possible at or near Main Street at the corner of 9th , 10th & llth Streets. - The Board directed the Clerk to notify the Western Union Tele- . graph Co. , to remove the dead pole on South 8th Street abutting walk at I. 0. 0. F. Building. The Board directed the Clerk to nofify the T.H. I. ; E. Traction Co., to raise their tracks at corner of Main & 6th Streets . The Board granted. The Richmond Commercial Club permission to erect two signs on City' s ground as follows , to -wit : - At South 5th Street C. & 0. Bridge west of track on bluff; In Glen Miller Park, on west end of the ravine leading down to the back spring. The matter of play-grounds at Glen Miller Park was referred to Council. . In the matter of bond. issue for improvements , the Board on mmt- moti on of Mr. Marlatt, go on record of not favoring any exten- sive program of improvements this year , on account of the in- crease of mate ri al s , which have advanced. from 25% to 33% in the past six months , The Clerk was directed to issue contractors certificate to the Kokomo Electric Const ruction Co. , to the amount of 80% of the contract. The Board approved the various pay-rolls to February 17th ,1917 . Claims to the amount of $11 , 790.16 were allowed & 'ordered paid. The Engineer was inst ruc ted to investi gate the grounds of the City at Light Plant , wi th a view to beautifying the same .
