The Board• of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday February 12th, 1917 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board being pre sent , Messrs , Bavis , Marlatt and McMinn. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : ® The Board approved the contract & bond of John F. Hipskind, contractor under Improvement Resolution No. 533-1917 , for con- struction of extension of sewer at light plant. - The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the improvement of South & North 3rd Street , from • South "A" Street to 1st alley south of North 10th Street , by pav- ing the nro ad way wi th one of the modern kinds of pavements ,to -wit : Asphalt -Concrete-Brick or Creosoted Wood Block and constructing necessary curb & gutter wh ere not al ready constructed, under Im- provement Resoluti on No. 528.1917 . After hearing all persons in- terested who appeared, and a remonstrance signed by a majority of the property owners residing on said street , on motion of Mr. McMinn, the Board rescind the said resolution. • The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the improvement of South "A" Street , by paving the roadway with Asphalt -Concrete-Brick or Creosoted Wood Block from ,South 2nd to 5th Street , under Improvement Resolution No. 530-1917. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and carefully considering a remonstrance against said. improvement , signed by 3 resident owners out of 6 residing along the line of said proposed improvement, the Board decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, less the amount which the City will pay, ( The City agrees to pay the cost of the -street & alley intersections and the additional sum of '35V on eao square yard of roadway abutting the property, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modifi cation. The Clerk presented a remonstrance filed February 8th, 1917 , against the improvement of South 4th St , and Ft-Wayne Ave , from South "A" to North "D" St , 'by paving the roadway with one of the kinds of modern ci ty improvements , to-wit : - Asphalt -Brick-Con- crete or Creosoted Wood Block , and constructing the necessary curb & gutter between the points named, after carefully consider- ing said remonstrance° the Board on motion modified said resoluti tion by striking out that part of the improvement from Main to North "D" Street, and to pave as specified. South 4th Street from Main to South. "A" Street, under said resoluti on, and as modified the Board ratifies former action taken on said improvement and decides that the property liable to be assessed for said improve- , ment under Improvement Resolution No. 526-1917 , from Main to South "A" Street is benefited to the amount of the estimated cost of same , less the cost of the street & all ey intersections and the amount which the city agrees to pay which is 35 V per sq-yrd . • out side of said intersections , and on motion confinn the reso- . luti on as modi fi ed. 14 Monday February 12th , 1917 . The Board make the appointment of Roy Dye ,as a regular member of fire department. Upon the request , tf the City Engineer, the salary of Rodman Donald Sligar, was increased to $60 .00 per month . County Bridge Engineer, Mueller, was on motion granted the use of coal shed and grounds adjacent to Main Street Bridge in river bottom owned by the City , in the construct - ion of new bridge , for the sum of $10.00 per month . The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the imp provement of North "F" Street , under Improvement Resolu- tion No. 52'7-1917 .
