The Board of Public Work; of the city of -Richmond , Indi ana ,
met in regular ses si on at the of fi ce of said Board Thursday
January 18th, 1917 , ,t 9 o° clock A. M. All the members of
said Board bei lag pre sent , Messrs , Bay is , Marlatt & McMinn.
The f_ollowingmproceedi ngs were had , to -wit : -
The Board di.r ecte d the City Civil Engi ne er , to purcha se
available materi al for the extension of sewer from• present
outlet near Carpenter' s , race to a point be low the intake
at City Light Plant .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement yte oluti. on No.
533-1.917 , To extend the Sewer from its pre sent out let near
the mouth of Carpenter' s race , to a point below the Intake
of the Municipal Light Plant, and directed the Clerk to ad-
vertise for bids for said work.
The Board received the following' communi cati on : -

Herev'i th we beg to submit to you plans for a .
new 41 ft . 8 inch . steel deck plate girder over Johnson St .
This bri dge will cl ear the en ti re width o f the Street , &
- provide an overhead clearance of -sixteen. feet from the sup-
face of the Street.
For the present we desire to set the girder on a timber
tower , and some ti me in the future build concrete abutments
to r. epla ce the timber towA.er
If your honorable Board uri 11 approve this plan , wi11
replace the present st eel girder as soon as possible . •
